Most people are wonderful and lovely but: 

1. As a customer, you will feel very disappointed:
- Many times employees arrive later than the agreed time (Cases in which they do not arrive).  
- The Lotus company exploited  them , horrible schedules, once you talk to them you understand why they coming later. They not have enough time to attend to so many appointments sometimes placed at the same time. The employees give everything, they do everything they can. But you can see its status.

2. If you are an employee (or you are looking for work with Lotus in this office): i will notify is a 0 hours contract (check what type of contract is this if you i do know please). 
- They will give you a choice between two schedules. Hours that never in the office will never respect when they give you your route. What they send you 7 days in advance is never what you end up working, always put you more hours. They change everything at the last moment even a few hours or minutes before (without asking you most of the times. They do it outside office hours, so you can not complain or change it.), you have to be all day pending your App. 
- You will never have a day off again (if you have one can`t enjoy, you must feel lot of tiredness) . There are days when you work from morning to night, without rest or just 1 hour of rest. And the next day the same, and the next, and the next ... 

3. If you are a driver:
- They not pay you very well what they promise for miles. Also not pay you if you sometimes pick up a co-worker who does not drive. 

4. If you are a walker:
- You must use your legs or public transport (or pay the taxi from your pocket) almost to get to and from work. Seldom does your co-worker drop you or pick you up with the car. If they are forced to pick you up or drop, because there is no public transport or because it is far away where they work that day, if this happens very often, they will kindly ask you to pay them, to do you the favor, since at work they not pay them for pick you up or drop you. 

In a great job, but they are far far away from being a good place to work for a long time. Also far from keeping their customers. 
Lotus have a lot to improve.

I have been in the care industry for 14 years now and can honestly say that these guys at Lotus are something special. They really do believe in compassionate home care and this feeds across in the way in which care is delivered to our service users. 

The company has around 10 branches and this helps the company invest significantly in training, equipment and perks for their own staff members. 

I really feel that the homecare industry is going downhill because national minimum wage is are increasing and the council and NHS budgets NHS budgets are a lot tighter. 

However, with a significant branch network, Lotus is able to support and invest where other companies do not support.

There are regularly new joiners that may join the company, however they are quite quickly asked to leave if they do not fulfil the level of dedication, compassion, love and determination needed by the company which aims to be the best in the industry.

I have worked across three branches and all of the three branches have the general ethos of providing good care. This is because senior management regularly provide oversight and visit these offices to make sure that everybody is singing from the same hymn sheet and ensuring that care is delivered to a high standard.

I really enjoyed the fact that I am one of the first people that my service users see and it’s lovely to see them wake up and for me to then prepare their breakfast so that they can have a nice comfortable day at home. 

I have felt regularly supported if I was ill or if I was unable to attend the call, the office staff are plentiful and they’re able to step in in a worst case scenario. The show must always go on and this is what Lotus strives to do.

If you are serious about care and want to progress, I seriously recommend you to look reply to Lotus Home Care.

 I know that there are some people who joined the company as carer, showed that they were enthusiastic and then were progressed from carer to field care supervisor, to deputy coordinator, to care coordinator, to deputy manager, to branch manager. The company really does intend to grow from within.

I have worked with lotus a few months. When I started the manager was ok but then I was off as COVID hit our house. The registered manager tried to force me to come out of isolation earlier as they was short staff. So I did tell them to stick their job as I was not willing to put vulnerable people at risk. Even though I didn’t contract COVID 2 people in my house did. However, the manager left and was replaced, I then went back. It is now enjoyable and feel respected. There is a better atmosphere in the office and all office staff now seem to enjoy their roles. We get phone calls if extra calls need picking up, rather than just been put on you and been expected to do. The office staff have more respect for the care staff and the communication is so much better. I like the fact that you have to do COVID tests weekly to ensure the safety of yourself, other staff and clients. Always PPE available in the office. Office staff are very approachable and the company pays well. The Wakefield branch(can’t speak for other branches) are all for progressing their staff. Get regular emails thanking all staff for their hard work and commitment to the company( can’t call all staff as too many) I would now since been back highly recommend working for lotus (Wakefield area). People complain about long hours. Everyone give availability so it’s not the offices fault if you put your available all day 5 days a week that’s your own issue. 

I have worked for Wakefield for just over 7 month's, i enjoy my job and the company who i work for. I get on with all management staff and i know if there is any problems i can go to my care co and she will sort any problems i have,and my rota is stuck to i know what i am doing every week she is also very supportive as all other managers in the office are and it really is a pleasure to collect my PPE from the office lol.

Like all care company's there is always a high turn over of staff and i am only being honest but you will find this where ever you go, i have worked for previous providers and was working nearly 6 full days a week because of staffing issues.

I get on well with all other staff members when i am working on a double up run and i also work by myself, i enjoy a mixture as it evens out my week and lets me meet new people. I love to hear the customer's storeys about the world war and their life back in the day.

If you want to make a difference in somebody's life please try care work, and if you find a good company like i have with Lotus you will be truly happy and enjoy coming to work.

Yes i have calls to pick up shifts as you would do in any company offering overtime but if i say no then it is left and there is no pressure to do the shifts.

Hope this helps people when deciding to come on board its up to you but hopefully in the next team meeting the person reading this review will be having a slice of pizza with us.

Compared to most care agencies Lotus is highly organised and offers better pay rates (£9.55) , even with 20p a mile travel money, don't forget you can claim other travel mileage from hmrc!

All care jobs are long hours and you tend to work extra shifts as your colleagues go off sick so let the company down and the most important part of the job -the customers. If you give in your availability then the coordinators will work around this the best they can but bear in mind you will be asked to work extra hours to ensure that people are cared for at the end of the day not to benefit anybody else. Don't forget you can say no. Unfortunately, things happen, cars break down, children get sick, ambulances need to be called, whatever it is it will have a knock on effect to everyone so You need to be aware that rotas etc can change. You also can't expect Lotus to arrange for you to get to and from work as well as around your calls, it's your job so your responsibility to sort transport if you don't drive and have the decency to offer colleagues petrol money if they drive you around.

This is one of the most rewarding jobs you can do and if you are passionate about it you can succeed and progress within this company. 

They are supportive and helpful and people tend to forget that management also work long hours and have to go above and beyond alll the time to ensure the service is covered effectively. If you are reliable and dedicated then you will be rewarded.

Worked with this company for just under 2 years. Have had a fab time. The team are very friendly and the work is incredibly demanding but so awarding. It’s so nice to see people give smiles when you provide good care and for the same to be rewarded to you as the care of the month by the managers. The manager is definitely recognise good carers and it’s really Nice to see hard work being recognised.

My recommendation to anybody who wants to work with Lotus Home Care to make sure that you are have 2 reference ready as they will not employ you without having to references.

It is also useful to have a DBS scan or transfer ready as you are not able to provide care without having a proper DBS check done.

I also recommend that you have some experience in this field as some of the service users can be quite difficult. If you have no experience, please do not worry as the induction training happens over the course of 2 to 3 days and you get refresher training so then you can always ensure that you are keeping on top of the requirements of care.

If your struggling about how to deliver care to certain difficult service users, there is training given to all care carers and also there is refresher training. We also have get-togethers on Tuesdays and this is where you can voice your concerns about any difficulty issues are who you would like to have support on.

It is definitely a place I recommend.

Fun working environment, work hard, play hard, flexible approach to work (choose your preferred type of hours). 

There is also a high calibre of work colleagues who help support you and carry out spot checks.  There is a strong learning/development ethos, innovative, vibrant environment. 

I felt that it is an awesome company that provides what you need to grow and develop into better roles. There is always an opportunity to exceed requirements and to show what you're capable of.

A also feel this is a fun and inspiring place to work. A great mix of people with passion for the company. 

I also feel that lotus home care gives great opportunities and provides a good support system and learning platform.

There is not really a typical day at work. There is always something new happening especially in relation to tthe care that needs to be delivered.

I can honestly say that Lotus home care has been an amazing learning platform for me, I have wonderful colleagues who are always free with sharing their professional knowledge. I learn something new everyday

I have been lucky enough mostly to have really good managers who provided the support and encouragement to do my job to the highest level.

It has been such a pleasure working with my co-workers both in Rotherham and Sheffield, they are highly professional, always willing to help and very encouraging.

Lotus Home Care claim to run with a family mentality however all they do is run good office staff into the ground. 100 hour plus weeks for several weeks without a break soon becomes the normal way of life. 

Your are expected to be on call/back up every morning and evening and always pressured into working weekends off. 

No support from office manager and when you explain your situation and how you’re feeling, you’re met with unsupportive comments or bad attitude. Office vibe is very cliquey! 

Clients are all wonderful which is the bonus but even they are getting fed up with inconsistent call times and lack of continuity from carers. 

Carers are leaving left, right and centre as they too are fed up with constant rota changes and unsupportive management. 

Progression is always available as staff are constantly leaving as they are unable to maintain ridiculous working hours- this is across all branches not just York. 

Company makes a huge point of following policies and procedures but only when it suits them! Hardly any exit interviews are completed as they don’t ever want to hear the negative.

It could be a wonderful job if the management change their approach and start listening to their staff but that’s not likely to happen which is a shame as they are losing good staff. 

Very bad management, very long hours 6.30am to 10pm sometimes later and only get paid for the jobs you do so could be working 14 hours and get paid for 8, breaks very poor no time for a break at home just feel your In your car forever l, lots of fuel used and only  get 20p per mile and not for breaks of more than 45 mins lots of wear and tear on car if ferrying customers around need a big car,  they expect you to work extra and make you feel bad if you don’t.  Needs a good shake up 
As long as you do over 70 hours a week you might get somewhere but soon as you go in the office your there around 2 weeks and leave due to very very poor management that does not like being told anything 
Have one rule for one person and the rest another.. no jewellery no make up no nails ect unless your in with the boss and you can do what you like.. it’s a care job not a page three modelling job 
Pay is bad when you realise you work for 12 hours and get paid for 8 !!!!   Management are awful they don’t care at all.  Get promised hours to work then the hire more staff and your hours get cut in half unless your willing to travel to Selby or york or other side of hull for two calls.. very very poor I would not let my worst enemy work for this company 

I have worked at multiple places throughout my career and never felt job security, job satisfaction or even valued. Working at Lotus gave me all of this and more. The directors work within the offices and are on hand for anything you may need, whilst also being SO approachable! No matter what the situation, there is always support wherever you turn and no matter what Office you visit, you are welcomed with open arms. 
Everyone respects each other, helps each other and boosts each other. One of the best things about Lotus is that they see your potential and they want to work with you to see you progress within the business with courses on offer and even a program to support people into management roles. 

Choosing Lotus Home Care was the best decision I made, I feel I actually make a difference within the business and what I do is appreciated and respected. 

I understand that everyone has their own experience but I can honestly say, after working for other Care Companies and in a variety of roles, none of my companies have treat me like this. I don't have a bad thing to say about this business and would encourage anyone to join!
