Office Angels

My typical day first starts at 8am with a cup of tea for myself and my team.  
Its straight to work after that as I work in a busy 24/7 Emergency Operations Department. I first start the day with maintaining my daily report which has to be sent to all levels of management through the South and South East of the country and Scotland.  

My role then changes, as I have recently been trained in Thief of Gas so that has a lot of investigating and phone calls and chase up's to be undertaken, and can sometimes be very time consuming.  So its important for myself to monitor and plan accordingly what I have to prioritise what needs to be completed first.
 
The hardest part of the day is trying to make sure the engineers capture on their laptops the information I have asked them to obtain from possible Thief of Gas sites.  They are supposed to capture  information I need, without having to re send them back.

  The most enjoyable part of the day is when all investigations have been collected correctly and all the information has been entered onto a huge database as job completed.

After a short break and a walk for some fresh air its time to chase outstanding deadlines and to send another report out to management advising them of availability of the remaining staff left for the evening call outs.

The day ends once I have fulfilled these tasks.

A lovely organisation to work for. Very small team of 3,providing HR support for approx 90 staff. The organisation is going through a Change Management process,so situations occured regularly which needed careful and immediate handling. I had a high volume of recruitment to deal with as the Senior management team had gained funding for various projects from major organisations. I had to learn their process very quickly as i took over the role from someone who was leaving the organisation,2 weeks after I started. I had to at least become profeciently familiar with the systems in place as well as create new systems to accomodate the new HR system being considered by Head of HR and Finance.I enjoyed the challenge that I was presented with, in learning new systems, new people and very different working enviroment to which I was used to. The most difficult part of the role was that my immediate line manager went on leave a week after I joined leaving me and the newly appointed Head of HR to fathom out some very old fashion systems - it was fun and I was sorry to have to leave whe I did.

Recently I have joined Office Angels because I need temp work. A typical day at work can be anything from collecting customer service feedbacks through online surveys via an iPad to working as a Receptionist at Mercedes Benz. 

I have learnt to communicate with a variety of people, to deal with difficult people. Most of all I have learnt that a smile and good manners take you a long way. 

Management at the agency is very good. They will phone me whenever they are aware of work for me and give me good pre-employment information, which allows me to get to the location and meet my colleagues. 

The colleagues I have worked with so far have been very pleasant with similar interests, at a similar stage in their life. 

The hardest part of the job is being put in jobs where you are surrounded by full-time employees who know their job very well, whereas if it is my first and possibly only day being cover, I feel as though I can never do as good of a job. 

However, the most enjoyable part of the job is learning new skills and meeting new people. Once you have learnt the basics of the job and people around you are willing to answer questions it is very rewarding.

•	Dropping consultant and branch information to new and existing clients within the area

•	Assisting with smooth running of in-branch interviews
•	Sourcing potential business using social media and cold calling
•	Assisting with temp payroll
•	Providing proficient clerical and administration support to the branch
•	Maintaining branch quality systems and preparing for audit
•	Designing and sending out marketing and promotional material on a regular basis

I worked for Office Angels 10 years ago as a temp and was very happy with them at the time but registered with them again recently and have been disappointed and unimpressed this time around.  They seem stuck in the 1990s.  At registration, I had to complete 2 very long forms by hand, which the consultant went through with a fine tooth comb, asking me for details of a job I had 25 years ago!! She talked to me like I was fresh out of college, rather than the late 40s woman that I am. 

Since this second registration, I have heard practically nothing from them, apart from for one position that I insisted was too far away but they insisted wasn't. Turns out we were talking about 2 different locations because they had given me the wrong information during the first phone call. I then told them I was only looking for local part time work and have seen an ideal job advertised by them recently but, surprise surprise, I have not received one phone call from them about it. 

This agency need to modernise or leave it to agencies that have moved with the times.

I finished my temporary role via Office Angels in June and since then have not had a single phonecall about any other roles.I feel that once you have completed an assignment for them and you have earned money for them you are simply forgotten about. Whenever I have phoned or e mailed asking if they have any work for me they just say not at the moment and never tell me about potential up and coming rolls or sound like they are actively seeking employment for me. Their attitude is one of stop bothering us, but obviously for me it is imperative that I find work. I never rang in sick or was late and the company I was assigned to thanked me for all I had done saying they wouldn't hesitate to employ me again should the need arise. I have 20+ years admin experience and to think this agency can't find me one single job in 6 months speaks volumes I feel. If you want work once in a blue moon and to spend most of the time worrying about being out of work then this is the agency for you!!!

I worked as PA and Administration work with Office Angels in Victoria, London and Surrey. Lots of various assignments  with different companies and government departments. Good pay rates and benefits. Recruitment Consultants were consistent with communicating in what's going on work wise. I was never short of work.

If you get any work with Office Angels ensure you maintain good rapport with them, so they will remember you. Good business acumen is needed in all aspects when dealing with recruitment agencies/ other companies, whatever your level of work status and career. Update CV constantly with key words that matches the job you are applying for. More chance they will respond to your CV for chat about possible work with them.

I would highly recommend registering Office Angels. Drop in at your nearest branch

- "considered" for ONE long-term, temp role, (for which I was advised the employer were looking at personality rather than qualifications/experience,) but then didn't call me back...  says a lot for what they thought of me!
- no further contact, had to keep ringing/e-mailing, but ended up being told to look at their site
- friendly, when interested in my registration, (umpteen forms and hours later), but not interested when querying why no communication or roles
- despite being registered, and no changes, told me I would need to re-register!  (Had done so twice, but that's enough.)
A real waste of time, and waste of your Referees' time, (whom they always request at the beginning, work or no work)!
They completely lose touch of the reality of the "candidates", and how it can knock your confidence and self-esteem when being overlooked time and time again for roles.  (If someone is "that bad", why register them?!)

Went to the Office Angels Chelmsford back in 2015, was told I was being short listed for a job I applied for, turns out I weren't short listed and no mention either when I turned up, just for me to go and sign up, was seen to by a rude consultant, looking down on me, felt very offended and unhappy! I was told the reason I do get interviews and unsuccessful was the way I answered the questions and my body language, what are you a psychic ? Thinking she is better than anyone !! Make you feel big and important being nasty? FFS! I may not like interviews but I do quite well in them most times when I was looking for work I even get AND ask for feedback every time and practice questions! Ruined my day and wasted my time !Thanks for that ! Not! Never again, from that day onwards this is one Recruitment agency I refuse to go to if I was ever asked to go again ! Wouldn't recommend a No No from me !

A typical day includes sorting large volumes of paperwork, photocopying, filing, typing and other general office duties. I have become more confident in my work abilities within this role and being placed at the company has given me the drive and ambition to pursue a college course that I can apply to my work life. 
The management structure in the office is very well received and I feel happy with it. The Office Angels management is also well organised and I feel well taken care of if I have queries or concerns. The job can feel more difficult as the workloads increase, especially over busy periods (March, April and May time) like ISA season. I do however enjoy this as being under pressure and on tight deadlines keeps me working well and pushes me to do my best.
