Boohoo attic is easy to recognize because it is characterized by dirt and mess.
Luckily for them, the kitchen is not well visible to the public, so it is not possible to see the level of mediocrity of the chefs who do not care to try to keep the premises clean or to do the job well (it is common opinion of the staff that food sucks). 

The floor is constantly full of food thrown on the floor by them (whole pieces of sausages, meat, whole onions and various vegetables) and they don't even pick for the whole shift.
Very frequently they throw large quantities of food into the wall which will irreparably begin to change color and stink.

One of the worst things is when, for example, they leave the packet of chips open on the floor and then pick them up and put them in the deep fryer. 
Nothing can however exceed those times when they clean surfaces above the stoves in use with the food in the pots (so you can imagine that all the dust went on the food and they don't care at all). 
Lucky if you don't need to go to the hospital.

With such a kitchen, the bar could not be less.

Dirt everywhere, especially on the surfaces where they place the food itself which they often leave there for hours (and in some cases even for days) and various liquids (coffee, juice) scattered on the tables and on the floor.

In addition, the staff is characterized by extremely lazy people who are often on the phone even in front of customers or who take hours of break. You can also find some of them sleeping in the sofas without anyone saying anything. Often they even forced me to perform their duties despite the fact that I reminded them that certain things are part of their very personal work
The supervisor has no role but the title itself because he does nothing all day.

As if that wasn't enough, they hate each other and insult each other from behind.
However, the main hatred was directed towards the manager from the first to the last day I was there and, despite not having any competence in his job, she had a genuine and somewhat naive side (I never understood if she realizes the words they address to her every day, even without reason). 
Unfortunately, being in such an environment, it is difficult to manage the situation, even because the other departments show no improvement and it is difficult to grow and improve without having any awareness of ethics at work and respect for employees.

Oh, didn't I mention this?
They treat you very badly, unless you "sweet-talk" to the right people, losing your own dignity and the focus at work. Obviously whoever does this is not a reliable person. 
I wasn't even allowed to take breaks.

It is obvious to say it, but given their reputation, I can only advise you to keep away from this place

TERRIBLE PLACE. You're beckoned into a job with the promise of 3 days work and 3 beautiful days of rest. But those 3 days off simply aren't enough to recover from what is a place that is ultimately rotten to the core. The work is painful, especially when tasked as a picker. 4 hours practically pacing around a warehouse, trying your best to scan items with all but faulty equipment. They have toilets available if you need them, but you eventually realise that if you go for a toilet break you're wasting time that you could be doing picking, and that any time in the toilet is going to ruin your stats for the hour. The same goes for even having a drink of water - I should mention that there are drinking fountains too, but they sometimes don't even work, and other workers will actually steal or move bottles of water. By the end of the day you're a dehydrated, sore, limping, miserable mess, and the extremely low quality work boots they provide you don't help in the slightest. It's practically slave work, and is NOT worth the wage.

But remember, you are just a NUMBER to them. Boohoo only care if you're hitting your targets! They have no time for moaners since I guess you're easily replaced. Speaking of no time for: It's infuriating looking around the place and seeing team leaders who seemingly do nothing all day, pretending to look busy. They stare away at their computer screen, ready to pounce on anybody who they see isn't meeting their expected targets by the slightest margin, with none of them having any idea how ridiculous the job is anyway. You yourself aren't allowed to listen to music or eat a snack while working, but plenty of these team leaders can be seen listening to music and munching on a packet of Maltesers. Smiling, laughing and joking with colleagues who seemingly don't do anything either. The same colleagues who have all the time in the world to play a game of pool during break times while the real workers are too busy trying their best to rest and eat to gain back as much energy for their shifts as possible within 30 minutes. I say 30 minutes, but seriously, by the time you set your scanner to break mode, take it off, walk all the way out of the warehouse, go to the toilet and grab your bag in the locker room you've wasted 7-10 minutes. The entire place really does fill you with a prison mentality.

If you've read any of this and are thinking of working at Boohoo, I greatly advise you, just don't... Not unless you're completely out of options and are in desperate need of money. It's simply not worth it.

A typical day would be coming in to work and engaging in the brief session before you start working either as a puck walker or packer. There is some good in this company as it helps train your stamina, gives you a level of discipline and keeps you healthy to a certain degree. You are trained to meet targets at all times as well. My group manager is great and few others I have Interactions with but I can't say it for everyone. There are a few managers who over stress you while at work, a manager who works on the night shift, who I won't say by name gives all staff stress, pressure and grief all the time. For example if a person is to complete his picking which often has a target of 130 per hour. Pickers will meet that target for most of the day and eventually could slip as we are all human we get tired the manager in question would say that it wasn't good e ough even if the remaining 7 hours worth of work went well. So, not every manager is delusional like this individual but there is a target we have to meet it would be nice if there was some improvements in the software. Workplace culture is the best you can speak to people at lunch which is a half an hour break after that during work it is difficult to speak to anyone as you've got work to complete. Certain pudo marshalls can be very nosy and condescending assuming they are managers, giving you demands, talking down to you as well. But not all either. Hardest part is ensuring to meet the target for 8 hours straight as I am on 8 hour shift 5 days a week. Most enjoyable part is break and going home be ause the job isn't for faint of hearts whether you're doing a 12 hour shift, 8 hour shift, it is difficult. If you happen to work here in boohoo Burnley don't trust anyone. Everyone is looking out for themselves. Beware of the pudo marshall who wears a pink high vest, he's very arrogant does a lot of micro management as well, as if the pickers don't have brain of their own. Plus the night shift manager who wears a beanie, or like hat on his head, he will often call you out of obvious errors which isn't bad but for even the smallest of things, I would love to expose him here but for legal reasons I won't. Absolutely horrible manager I doubt he could even manage to keep a 80% efficiency and meet 130 picks per hour without failure. As for the other managers who are very considerate I really appreciate them.

If you’re a young, aspiring, hard working and a seriously career driven individual, then a career with Boohoo isn’t for you. PLEASE READ ON!!!!!

The maintenance department is run by inexperienced management which are scared of being shown up by the shift engineers who clearly have more knowledge and expertise than some of the leaders. Even simple tasks like resetting a circuit breaker cannot be carried out by the shift engineers without consent from either the maintenance manager or certain team leaders. When asked for the keys to access boards and panels to perform said task the response given was “You’re not a team leader and not entitled to a key”. This is in spite of having over 20 years of qualified/Safe experience.

The shift engineers are great people but there is an overwhelming sense of backstabbing brought on by a childish gossip culture which emanates from the management and other bored shop floor workers. 

Boohoo employed Assistant engineers to work alongside the skilled workers with the promise of putting them through an apprenticeship programme. Although this is a great idea, the management don’t seem to be bothered about providing skilled experience for the apprentices, they would rather have them unblock cardboard boxes stuck on conveyors With sellotape. This same process goes for the skilled staff on shift and ideas above your experienced station are seriously frowned upon and moaned about behind your back.

Finally. A problem occurred on shift which meant assistance was required and when an Assistant Team Leader was asked to lend a hand, the response was “I’m not helping you if I’m going to get that dirty”. It wasn’t said in humour. That was one of many final straws. 

In conclusion, Boohoo is great if you want a job to see out the remaining few years of your career and you don’t want a challenge. Not so great if you want to be challenged and stimulated. It’s a position that attracts people afraid of hard work. 

Hairdressers with toolboxes

I'll start off with how rude and disrespectful the team leaders are to employees. Worked here - hit my targets, worked as a team, sent good quality messages and was sacked for apparently having bad quality. What a poor excuse - the management are bullies, patronising and made false promises to so many of us. 
The day would start off by having to sit at the dirtiest, dustiest desk left with crisp and chocolate wrappers from the night before - definitely not something you want to see in the mornings. The working conditions were appalling - you'd want to sit somewhere with a bit of fresh air for your breaks and lunch but no, the canteen in this department was unbearable, honestly more fresh air at the computers. Poor ventilation and they expect us to bring our own desk fans.
Fair enough, we can't use phones at desks but they love to pick on you and pass sarcastic comments if you speak to someone across you for a matter of seconds.

I've learnt that there's no way you can succeed and receive praise from team leaders for the quality and hard work you put in throughout the day unless your nose is up managements bum.

I was randomly told to leave work in the middle of the day for apparently having a low score buddy when half of the advisors make spelling mistakes and still don't follow procedure. I wasn't given a fair explanation for why I've been told to leave which goes against employees rights. When i asked why I've been told to leave, the team leader had no answers to any of my questions. So bloody unfair when I was told I can't appeal for whatever reason. Told in my meeting that my contracts been terminated and I need to leave. They wouldn't even let me pick up my own belongings and leave from the main door! Instead, they made me leave from the fire exit and made me feel like rubbish. Felt like it was a big brother eviction.
So much favouritism and discrimination at this workplace, its crazy. Felt like I was back at school with the horrible attitudes shown by team leaders towards employees - ZERO RESPECT!!!!

Despite this, made some good friends and milked the cash.

Reading reviews before i started put me of but tbh , like people say at boohoo a good percentage of the bad reviews are just from people that couldnt hack the job. After my first week i wanted to quit so bad my back hurt my legs hurt my feet killed , but i stuck at it for the money and 2 months later the pain stopped you get used to it. The job would be 5 stars if the job security was good but if u dont get target then after 3 warnings ur gone , its not fair coz it depends on the parcels you get weather you hit target are not for example if you get sh**t ones with boxes and that then its impossible to get target. However if you get Big parcels full with little items of clothing then tagets easy. Also to get target with just basic parcels youd have to stand there constantly working without any form of talking, which makes the job bad and makes you depressed at work , for me i liked to speak and that to get me threw the shifts so when i didnt get target i would get told of for talking , they need to lower the target to around 53 in my opinion that would make the job easyer and would give you better job security , and make it more fun and not depressing. Team leaders on Red AM are nice liked all of them. One more thing i didnt like was a lot of the people dont speak nor understand English which leads English people to be surronded by people speaking around them and they cant help but wonder if there talking bad about them. Overall id recommed the job of ur just looking for a short teen job -i stayed for 5month , are if ur looking for a part time job. If you have rent and bills to pay -BE CAREFULL, also alot of reviews said about them being robbed and not being paid holiday pay , however i just revieced my holiday pay hence i decided to write this review proofs job isnt as bad as they make out 

To start with the training is alright and do get eased in with false promises. At first I thought huh not so bad. The work life balance is okay too for customer service if you get to work from home and only work 1 in 3 weekends. However get a day off of quite hard and you will only get told if it is approved the day before. 

The problems started to arrise 6 months in. That's when they expect perfection and will only show relentless negativity by only ever focusing on what you get wrong and never what you get right. I asked for postive feedback and was told by a manager "we do not have time for that".  We are expected to reply to 25 customers an hour. Slowly more things were added on top of what we had to do already and we saw no pay rise or no reduction in contacts expected per hour. You would always fail if you even forgot to use a customers name. Always sending out faulty items but never let off for a mistake. 

When I was slightly underperforming I was told I had 4 days and then I'd have to return to the office which was an hour and a half away for 8 weeks over christmas period. I refused on grounds of health but they gave no warning this was a thing they could do and didn't care that this would have financially impacted me too.

They are also very uncaring with mental health. If you suffer with mental they just say nothing we can do. The mangers will always make an excuse and never own it. 

Maybe one day Boohoo will change its treatment of employees. I can only hope as everyone deserves to feel happy to come into work but I was miserable by the end. 

A message too Boohoo. Please care for your bottom line staff they keep you going. Without us and the warehouse you'd simply crumble.

Don't even bother getting a job there, the team leaders don't know what they are doing, the only thing they are good at is putting a ton of pressure on you to reach the target of 60+ in ONE HOUR if you are put on the returns sector, that's a joke 60+ parcels to scan, unpack, inspect, re-pack, put labels on and in container!!! you have to do all that in ONE HOUR for each 60!!!!!!!!!! is this a joke? 
The other team members (workers) are very friendly overall, you can tell by their face expressions that they just don't want to be there standing for 11 hours, I feel sorry for them especially the elderly people.
The team leaders get to sit on comfortable chairs with their CLEANED desks, every time you go ask them for help they wont be there at their desks or they be chatting to other team leaders about what they had for dinner last night.
One thing that got my nerves was, during the holy month of RAMADHAN the team leaders didn't have a little bit of respect to turn the radio off or even turn the volume a bit down for the people that were fasting during work, absolute disgrace!
After the month of RAMADHAN my uncle had an interview with MACH RECRUITMENT for BOOHOO, the interview started at around 2 ish, everybody was there waiting for the agency to let us in, a POLISH MAN WORKING FOR THE AGENCY comes to my uncle and the first thing he asks him was if he knew fluent ENGLISH AND A BRITISH PASSPORT, hahahahahaha guys this man didn't know how to speak in English himself and i am sure doesn't obtain a valid british passport either, absolute jokes this whole place is an absolute JOKE!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Well, the way of working is constantly changing. They tell you to talk one way one week and then the next they tell you that’s wrong and it needs to be like this. 
You get treated like a child, sometimes it’s like being back at school with the amount of ‘training’ or ‘coaching’ you have. Some TL’s take it way too serious and try to minute manage everything you do when sometimes it’s best to just leave the advisers to work. The constant dread every shift of being failed on a message and then having to do training was bad. The hours are horrendous too, I can deal with 7-4 but as soon as I did a 12-9 or 1-10 then it would make me depressed. Especially when you did those shifts at a weekend.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Negative all round. Probably a product of WFH but it felt like everything you did was never good enough for them. Something always had to be changed or improved. You couldn’t just work a certain way for a number of months, it would always be something different every week.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
8 straight hours of responding to customers. You get two 15 minute breaks and a half hour for lunch which is ok but sometimes you might be online for 3 hours at a time. It ended up with them tracking your activity to see if you were always responding to customers and if you had ‘missing minutes’ you’d be pulled up on it

The pay here is extremely fair, I was getting paid almost £4 more than my minimum wage band at the time. The canteen is a nice touch, sandwich vending machines are the best option though, food and drinks are very cheap. 

Targets are usually unattainable in the time frame they would like. For example on stock placement I would be required to place 4 items a minute, it's doable, but only if you're flat out all the time, this is because you will encounter barcodes that will not scan and it will happen often and destroy your chances of hitting targets. There is a constant comparison game. If one person does it better you should do it better too. If there is a task you obviously can't do they will keep you on it until you can do it, which is bad news because you only have 4 weeks training time and during this time you must be able to hit targets in every role and if you can't do that they will fire you. It doesn't matter if you are the best at stock placement, if you fail in goods in you'll be fired. There is no such thing as individuality. Everyone is the same and has the same strengths and no weaknesses or they will be fired. Supervisors are extremely unfriendly, to the point of passive aggression towards you if you miss your target even slightly, or if you hit your target but someone else is doing better.
