Full job description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Waiter/Waitress to join our vibrant hospitality team. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine love for hospitality and a passion for delivering exceptional guest service.

For this role, it is essential to have proven previous experience in similar dining environments, demonstrating a strong understanding of restaurant operations and a flair for creating a welcoming atmosphere. We are looking for someone who takes pride in the art of service and has a track record of excellence.

This position offers a unique opportunity to utilise your hospitality knowledge and leadership skills within a dynamic dining environment, ensuring every guest enjoys a truly memorable experience.

Duties

Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm, providing detailed descriptions of dishes and specials.
Take accurate orders and relay them efficiently to the kitchen, ensuring timely preparation and service.
Serve food and beverages with professionalism, maintaining high standards of presentation and etiquette.
Upsell menu items and specials to maximise guest satisfaction and revenue.
Monitor guest needs throughout their visit, responding promptly to requests or concerns.
Ensure compliance with food safety standards and maintain cleanliness in all service areas.
Assist in training junior staff members, sharing expertise in service techniques and restaurant procedures.
Handle payments accurately, process transactions efficiently, and manage cash or electronic payments securely.

Skills

Proven experience in hospitality or restaurant environments, with a solid understanding of serving protocols.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and basic food preparation techniques.
Excellent guest service skills, with the ability to anticipate guest needs and provide personalised attention.
Strong organisational skills with effective time management to handle multiple tables during busy service periods.
Basic maths skills for processing bills and handling transactions accurately.
Previous experience working in a high-end restaurant environment is advantageous.
Ability to upsell menu items confidently while maintaining genuine guest engagement.
Team-oriented attitude with excellent communication skills and a professional demeanour.
