Full job description

About the Role

The Holbrook and Shotley Practice is looking to recruit two dispensary hatch assistants to join our team. The positions are both full-time, Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 17:00.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

Ensuring that requests for repeat prescriptions are actioned within 72 hours. This includes checking email requests and involves a rota system to cover the collection and drop off of all prescriptions from each site.
Responding to all queries and requests from chemists, nursing homes and district nurses, regarding the issue of prescriptions.
Keeping repeat prescription information up-to-date in the patient journal, such as letters and doctors' requests.
Sending out review letters.
Organising blood tests (through ICE system) or blood pressure checks for patients, relevant to their prescribing needs.
Prescribing Incentive Scheme – issue reports and letters, working around any guidelines issued to ensure budget reductions where possible.
Medicine management – liaising and discussing any enquires or queries raised by the clinical team.
General ad hoc administration work.
Flexibility to cover other areas when required – multi-skill mix.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate will:

demonstrate an excellent standard of patient care.

General practice experience and knowledge of SystmOne would be an advantage.

The Holbrook and Shotley Practice is a GP Practice across two surgery sites. We pride ourselves on providing a high standard of care to our 8000 patients. Our practice team comprises three GP partners, two salaried GPs, supported by a highly experienced team of nurses, dispensers, paramedics, and a reception team.
