Nestled in beautiful Highampton, Beaworthy, our home is filled with energy, compassion, and a brilliant multidisciplinary team—including carers, hydration assistants, physiotherapists, nurses, domestics and an activity team—who all work together to enhance the everyday lives of our residents.

We’re looking for an experienced catering professional with a good understanding of food safety, nutrition and team leadership. A Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification (or equivalent), or a willingness to work towards one, is essential, along with previous experience in a catering or kitchen management role. What You’ll Be Doing…

To lead, develop and oversee a person-centred food, dining and hospitality programme that enhances residents' wellbeing, choice and quality of life.

The role is responsible for ensuring residents enjoy nutritious, appetising meals and meaningful food-related experiences tailored to their individual needs, preferences and interests. Through effective leadership of the Catering and Hospitality Team, the post holder ensures the safe delivery of high-quality food services, compliance with food safety standards, and the creation of welcoming dining environments that support social connection and resident satisfaction.

You will:

Lead and supervise the Kitchen Team, providing training, support and performance management.
Develop rotas and allocate duties to ensure effective catering operations.
Plan and deliver nutritious, varied menus that meet residents’ dietary, cultural, religious and medical needs.
Oversee the provision of specialist and modified-texture diets, including IDDSI compliance.
Work collaboratively with care teams and the Nutrition & Hydration Lead to support residents’ wellbeing.
Ensure meals are attractive, well-presented and served in a timely manner.
Maintain compliance with food hygiene, food safety, infection control and regulatory requirements.
Oversee food preparation, storage, temperature monitoring and kitchen cleanliness.
Manage food ordering, stock control, budgets and supplier relationships to ensure quality and value for money.
Conduct risk assessments and promote safe working practices within the kitchen environment.
Maintain accurate records and ensure completion of all required audits and compliance checks.
Communicate effectively with residents, relatives, colleagues and external professionals.
Support a positive dining experience that promotes choice, independence and quality of life.

What We’re Looking For…

Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification or equivalent or working towards.
Experience in a catering or kitchen management role.
Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
Good organisational and communication skills.
Understanding of dietary requirements in a care setting.
Ability to design and deliver nutritional menus
Knowledge of risk assessment processes and safe kitchen environment.
Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills.
Ability to maintain accurate records and oversee documentation.

Desirable

Experience within a care or healthcare environment.
Knowledge of CQC standards.
Understanding of IDDSI framework and modified diets.
