Advanced Social Work Lead, Mental Health Team

Your next role

We are looking for an Advanced Social Work Lead in the Mental Health Team.

You will have sound strength-based skills and be passionate about ensuring people with a mental illness are supported to live their best lives.

You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, multi-disciplinary working skills and enjoy working in a fast paced but supportive environment. You will be self-motivated and solution focussed.

This is one of three Social Work Lead roles in the team and will see you working closely with the other Social Work Leads, the Team Manager, the team and key mental health stakeholders to support the residents of Swindon and their families.

You will help support the management of the Duty team, including referrals and enquiries into the team, alongside deputising for the Team Manager when required.

The Adult Social Care Teams support adults living in Swindon and you will be responsible for ensuring the teams completion of Care Act Assessments and proportionate support planning, S117 Needs Assessments, S42 Enquiries and ensuring appropriate protection plans. You will ensure the team follow the care management process of reviews, completing Mental Capacity Assessments and Best Interest decisions.

You must hold a formal social work degree and be registered with Social Work England to apply for this post.

You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).

You will require access to a car to be able to travel throughout the Borough and in wider geographical areas as required.

The team operates a hybrid working model, with all practitioners expected to be in the office for a minimum of two days per week. You may occasionally be required to be in the office for additional time to support the people you supervise.

You will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check.
