About Thunderbolt Digital

Thunderbolt Digital is a full-service digital marketing agency based in Farnham, Surrey. We work with businesses across a wide range of sectors, helping them grow through digital marketing, websites, SEO, paid advertising, social media, content and creative campaigns.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Apprentice Digital Marketing Assistant to join our growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the beginning of their marketing career who wants hands-on experience working inside a busy digital agency rather than learning marketing purely from a classroom.

You will work alongside experienced members of our marketing, SEO, social media, creative and account management teams while completing your digital marketing apprenticeship.

The Role

As an Apprentice Digital Marketing Assistant, you will support our team across a variety of client accounts and digital marketing activities.

No two days will be exactly the same. You could be helping prepare social media content one day, researching competitors and keywords the next, and then assisting with a client campaign, website project or marketing report.

Your responsibilities will include:

Assisting with social media content creation and scheduling
Supporting SEO campaigns and keyword research
Researching competitors and market opportunities
Helping create and upload website content
Assisting with blogs, email campaigns and marketing copy
Supporting Google Ads and social advertising campaigns
Helping prepare client marketing reports
Carrying out online research for client campaigns
Supporting the team with campaign planning and ideas
Helping maintain client marketing calendars
Checking websites and digital content for accuracy
Assisting account managers with day-to-day client requirements
Learning how different digital marketing channels work together to generate enquiries, sales and business growth

As your knowledge and confidence develop, you will be given more responsibility and the opportunity to manage elements of campaigns yourself.

Who We Are Looking For

We are not expecting you to already be an experienced digital marketer. That is what the apprenticeship is designed to help you become.

However, we are looking for someone who has some previous exposure to marketing, whether through education, work experience, a previous role, personal projects or running social media/content for a business or organisation.

You should:

Have a genuine interest in digital marketing
Have some previous marketing experience or knowledge
Be comfortable using social media platforms
Have good written English and communication skills
Be confident using computers and learning new software
Be organised and able to manage different tasks
Have good attention to detail
Be willing to ask questions and learn
Be comfortable receiving feedback on your work
Be reliable and professional
Be interested in how businesses use marketing to generate leads and sales
Be proactive rather than waiting to be told what to do

Experience with platforms such as WordPress, Canva, Meta, LinkedIn, Google Ads, Google Analytics or SEO tools would be useful, but is not essential.

You will also see first-hand how a digital agency works and how campaigns are planned, delivered and measured for real businesses.

Who This Role Would Suit

This position would suit someone who has recently finished school, college or another course and knows that they want to build a career in marketing.

It may also suit someone currently working in another junior role who has gained some marketing experience and now wants structured training and a career within digital marketing.

We care more about your attitude, curiosity and willingness to learn than having years of experience.

However, digital marketing moves quickly, so you must be someone who is comfortable learning, experimenting and continually improving.
