Full job description

We are a growing accountancy practice looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Senior to join our team.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 6 years’ experience working within an accountancy practice and will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, preparing accounts, tax returns, and providing a high-quality service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparation of statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
Preparation and submission of corporation tax returns
Preparation of personal and self-assessment tax returns
Preparation and review of VAT returns
Maintaining client records and ensuring deadlines are met
Bookkeeping and reconciliations
Assisting clients with accounting queries and providing practical advice
Liaising directly with clients and building strong working relationships
Supporting junior team members where required

Skills and Experience Required:

Minimum of 6 years of continuous experience working within a UK public accounting practice is strictly required.
Professional Qualification: ACA, ACCA (qualified by experience will be considered if practice tenure is exceptional)
Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of UK GAAP, FRS 102, and current HMRC tax regulations.
Experience managing multiple client deadlines
Good communication skills and ability to deal directly with clients
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and organisational skillsSoftware Experience:

Experience with the following software is essential:

Xero
Sage
IRIS, CCH
Microsoft Excel (including spreadsheets and reconciliations)

Experience with other accounting packages would be an advantage.
