About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Fresh Produce and Warehouse team at AGP Foods Limited, supporting Tian Tian Market stores across London.
As a Fresh Produce Packer / Warehouse Operative, you will help prepare, pack and organise fresh produce for distribution to our stores. You will also support with pallets, deliveries, warehouse housekeeping, packaging machinery and the cleaning and preparation of vegetables.
This is a practical and physically active role within a busy warehouse environment. Working hours will vary according to business needs, delivery schedules and seasonal demand. Applicants should therefore be able to offer a reasonable degree of flexibility.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, dependable and willing to support different areas of the operation when required.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Inspect, sort and pack fresh fruit and vegetables for distribution to Tian Tian Market stores
- Wash, clean, trim and prepare vegetables where required
- Weigh, package, seal and label products accurately
- Check product dates, labels, quantities and packaging before dispatch
- Identify and remove damaged, spoiled or unsuitable produce
- Meet reasonable daily packing and production targets while maintaining quality standards
- Operate packaging machinery safely after receiving appropriate training
- Clean and sanitise packaging machinery, equipment and food-preparation areas
- Assemble, wrap, label and organise pallets ready for dispatch
- Assist with loading, unloading and moving stock safely
- Use manual pallet trucks or other warehouse equipment only when trained and authorised
- Receive and check incoming deliveries against purchase orders or delivery paperwork
- Ensure delivered goods are of the correct quantity and acceptable quality
- Report and record shortages, damage, incorrect items or other delivery discrepancies
- Return rejected goods in accordance with company procedures
- Rotate stock correctly and help reduce damage, waste and product loss
- Assist with stock counts and the organisation of warehouse storage areas
- Keep workstations, floors, equipment and communal warehouse areas clean and tidy
- Dispose of packaging and food waste safely and responsibly
- Follow food hygiene, allergen-control and contamination-prevention procedures
- Wear the required personal protective equipment and follow all safety instructions
- Report hazards, accidents, damaged equipment or machinery faults immediately
- Communicate effectively with the Fresh Produce Supervisor and other team members
- Work independently when required while remaining supportive of the wider team
- Be proactive during quieter periods and help prepare for busy production periods
- Assist with large stock deliveries and seasonal increases in workload
- Support Tian Tian Market shop-floor teams when reasonably required
- Provide friendly and professional customer service when working in a customer-facing area
- Comply with the Employee Handbook and all company policies and procedures
- Carry out other reasonable fresh produce or warehouse duties as required
Skills and experienceEssential

- Comfortable working on your feet and in chilled warehouse areas where required
- Able to safely perform the physical requirements of the role, with reasonable adjustments where appropriate
- Eligible to work in the United Kingdom
Desirable
- Previous experience in fresh produce packing, food production, warehousing or factory work
- Experience operating packaging or production-line machinery
- Experience handling pallets, deliveries and warehouse stock
- Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene certificate
- Manual-handling or pallet-truck training
- Knowledge of South East Asian and East Asian food products
