Job Overview

Join our dynamic kitchen team as a Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant and be a vital part of delivering exceptional culinary experiences! In this lively role, you will support the kitchen’s smooth operation by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring that all kitchen areas meet the highest standards of hygiene and organization. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment for both staff and guests, contributing to the overall success of our hospitality service. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary skills and gain valuable experience in a fast-paced, vibrant setting.

Duties

Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils efficiently and thoroughly.
Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and organizing ingredients under supervision.
Support the kitchen team in setting up workstations and ensuring all equipment is sanitized and ready for use.
Help with waste disposal, recycling procedures, and keeping storage areas tidy and organized.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations by following proper hygiene practices at all times.
Assist in restocking supplies and ingredients to ensure smooth kitchen operations throughout service periods.
Support serving staff during busy periods by helping with tray setups or clearing tables as needed.

Experience

Previous experience working in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm to learn is key!
Familiarity with food preparation techniques such as basic cooking skills or handling ingredients is advantageous.
Experience in maintaining cleanliness standards within a commercial kitchen or similar setting is beneficial.
Knowledge of health and safety procedures related to food handling and hygiene practices is a plus.
A proactive attitude with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
