Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Leader to oversee daily operations within our busy hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary and kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional service. This role involves supervising team members, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and fostering a positive working atmosphere. The Shift Leader will play a key role in maintaining high standards of food preparation, cooking, and customer satisfaction while managing operational tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the activities of team members during assigned shifts to ensure smooth operations.
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring quality and consistency in all dishes served.
Ensure compliance with food safety standards and hygiene regulations at all times.
Assist with food production tasks as needed, including preparing ingredients and final dishes.
Manage team schedules, delegate tasks, and motivate staff to achieve performance goals.
Monitor customer service standards, addressing any issues promptly to maintain a high level of hospitality.
Support training initiatives for new staff members and ongoing development for existing team members.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and service areas throughout the shift.
Collaborate with management to optimise operational efficiency and implement new procedures or menu items.

Requirements

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen roles within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
Supervising experience with a strong background in team management and leadership.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food production environments.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
Strong communication skills to lead teams and interact with customers professionally.
Experience in hospitality, including serving or barista work, is advantageous but not essential.
Previous experience in restaurant or hotel environments is preferred.
A proactive attitude with a passion for delivering outstanding customer service and culinary excellence.
