Overview

We are seeking EXPERIENCED enthusiastic and customer-focused Waiting Staff to join our vibrant hospitality team. Working on a FULL TIME PERMANENT basis this role is NOT SUITABLE FOR STUDENTS. There are 2 positions, one in The Harbour House Inn and one in South Prom Cafe, please state which applying which one you are applying for!

The ideal candidate will possess a passion for delivering exceptional guest service in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within the hospitality industry, working alongside experienced professionals committed to creating memorable dining experiences. Candidates should be organised, personable, and eager to contribute to a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.

Duties

Greet guests warmly and provide attentive table service throughout their visit
Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special dietary requirements are accommodated
Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunities
Clear tables promptly and assist with setting up for subsequent service periods
Maintain knowledge of menu offerings, including ingredients and food safety standards
Assist in food preparation or kitchen duties as required, supporting overall restaurant operations
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times, including food safety protocols
Handle guest queries or complaints professionally, aiming to resolve issues promptly and courteously
Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth service flow

Qualifications

Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation techniques is advantageous
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts
Excellent communication skills with a friendly and professional demeanour
Ability to work well under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail
Basic maths skills for handling bills and transactions accurately
Experience in guest services, upselling, or culinary environments is beneficial but not mandatory
Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or public holidays as required
