Full job description

Locations: Duxford • Bedford • St Ives (Cambridgeshire)
Contract: Permanent, full-time – choose Day (06:00-16:00), Late (10:00-20:00) or Night (upon application)
Salary: £46,800 – £55,000 basic & overtime

WTL Truck & Van Centres are Renault Trucks franchised workshops that keep Welch Group’s 80-strong diesel fleet moving and service some of the UK’s very first electric vehicles. A £8 million flagship site at Duxford, plus fully equipped satellite workshops in Bedford and St Ives, give our techs dealer-grade tooling, ATF lanes and a direct pipeline to Renault’s brand-new EV/HV Training Academy.

LCV technicians with high-voltage expertise are in short supply—making your skills more valuable than ever. You’ll be at the forefront of maintaining electric vans that show zero-emission transport is here to stay, while also keeping the UK’s diesel fleet running strong.

What you’ll do

Diagnose and repair LCVs using TEXA & OEM software
Perform scheduled servicing, MOT-prep and (for night shift) occasional roadside call-outs
Liaise with Parts & Service Advisors for first-time-fix efficiency
Mentor apprentices

The skills & experience you’ll bring

NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 in HGV or LCV maintenance (or equivalent)
Strong diagnostics and electrical fault-finding skills; IMI Level 3 EV cert a plus
Full UK driving licence
Pride in right-first-time quality and safe workshop practice
