Full job description

This position is offered as a fixed-term 12-month contract to provide maternity cover.

We’re looking for a passionate and knowledgeable individual to help us deliver sustainable land management to farmers and landowners in the Trent catchment.

Join our collaborative team of environmental experts, as you develop and deliver impactful projects on farmland, with a strong emphasis on rivers, pollution, and wetlands. If you are highly organised, experienced in project delivery, thrive on building relations with farmers, and confident in engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role

Trent Rivers Trust is looking for an enthusiastic Farming and Environment Advisor to support the delivery of a number of existing high-profile projects. The successful candidate will work with farmers, contractors and stakeholders to support the continued delivery of our major programme of landowner engagement and capital investment. Work will be spread across several catchments within the Trent. The primary aims of the role is to engage with farmers, provide informed farming advice and to coordinate with others to deliver Nature-based capital works and land management changes that reduce diffuse pollution, improve water quality and deliver river restoration.

The post holder will have a broad understanding of UK farming with experience implementing projects with farmers that seek to reduce pollution or improve biodiversity or habitat connectivity. It is important that Trent Rivers Trust is supportive and collaborative in its approach to gain trust, implement solutions and ensure long term benefits from this work. This role helps to build relationships, provides a supportive environment for the implementation of our river restoration, natural flood management and pollution reduction projects. The role will also oversee and manage particular on farm projects

The priorities for this role will change as our portfolio of projects requiring specialist agricultural technical advice continues to develop.
