Job Overview

OCOSC are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Room Leader to oversee a vibrant and engaging childcare environment during the summer holidays. In this role, you will ensure that young children receive high-quality care and early childhood education in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating setting. You will inspire creativity, foster development, and promote positive experiences for every child. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact during the busy summer period, creating memorable moments for children and supporting their early learning journey.

Duties

Oversee our small early years room over the summer holidays
Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote early childhood development across cognitive, social, emotional, and physical domains
Maintain a safe and welcoming environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and safeguarding policies
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about children's progress, activities, and any concerns
Ensure you follow our policies, procedures, and best practices in childcare and early education
Monitor children's behavior positively, encouraging social skills, cooperation, and independence
Support the onboarding of new team members and assist in their ongoing training and development

Qualifications

Proven management experience within a childcare or nursery setting
Experience working with children in early childhood education or childcare environments
Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in nursery care
Excellent communication skills in English to effectively liaise with children, parents, and team members
Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are essential
Ability to work actively outdoors or indoors for extended periods while maintaining high energy levels
