Join the Family at Dorringtons – Assistant Manager Role in Thaxted!

If you love working in a vibrant bakery environment and are ready to support our shop manager in driving sales, leading a talented team, and ensuring everything runs smoothly, we would love to hear from you.

The Details

Role: Assistant Manager
Location:Thaxted Branch
Hours: 37 hours per week
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday: 6:30 AM – 4:15 PM

What You Will Be Doing

As our Assistant Manager, you’ll be the heartbeat of the shop—stepping up to have full management control during the Manager's days off and holidays. Your day-to-day will involve:

Customer Care & Sales: Inspiring your team to deliver exceptional service, handle promotions, encourage upselling, and respond warmly to customer feedback.
Shop Presentation: Ensuring our branch looks immaculate, keeping takeaway lines well-stocked.
Team Leadership: Guiding, training, and motivating staff, monitoring high standards of hygiene and uniform, and helping new starters settle in seamlessly.
Operations & Safety: Managing day-to-day paperwork, temperature checks, stock control, and keeping health and safety standards front and centre.

What We Are Looking For

An enthusiastic and energetic individual ready to lead by example.
Someone who thrives in a bustling, fast-paced environment and doesn't mind a hands-on role (including lifting and carrying stock).
A natural motivator who enjoys training others and building a supportive team culture.
Strong attention to detail regarding cleanliness, safety, and operational standards.
