Senior Software Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented software professional who enjoys building scalable applications, solving complex technical challenges, and contributing to the development of innovative digital products.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work closely with product managers, software engineers, quality assurance specialists, and business stakeholders to design, develop, and maintain high quality software solutions. You will play a key role in technical decision making, code quality, and mentoring team members while contributing to the delivery of reliable and secure applications.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain high quality software applications.
Build scalable and reliable backend services, APIs, and distributed systems.
Collaborate with cross functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions.
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following established development standards.
Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to software engineers.
Troubleshoot software defects and implement effective solutions.
Support application performance, scalability, security, and reliability improvements.
Develop and maintain automated tests and contribute to continuous integration and continuous delivery processes.
Create and maintain technical documentation for applications and development processes.
Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
Stay informed about emerging technologies and recommend improvements where appropriate.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer, Software Developer, or similar senior level role.
Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript.
Experience developing RESTful APIs, microservices, and enterprise applications.
Knowledge of cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud Platform.
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
Familiarity with Git, automated testing, and continuous integration and continuous delivery practices.
Understanding of software design patterns, object oriented programming, and secure coding principles.
Experience working within Agile software development environments.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem solving skills.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
