Job Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Trainee Electrical Mechanical Estimator and embark on an exciting journey into the world of construction project estimation! In this entry-level role, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the estimation process for electrical and mechanical systems across diverse projects. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in cost analysis, project planning, and technical documentation while working alongside seasoned professionals. If you’re eager to learn, detail-oriented, and passionate about construction and engineering, this is the perfect role to kick-start your career.

Responsibilities

Assist staff in preparing detailed cost estimates for electrical and mechanical systems based on project drawings and specifications
Gather and analyse pricing information from suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure accurate budgeting
Support the review of project scopes to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and risks
Contribute to the preparation of bid proposals by compiling necessary documentation and supporting materials
Help maintain organised records of all estimation documents, supplier quotes, and project data
Participate in site visits or meetings as needed to better understand project requirements and scope
Develop foundational knowledge of cost control techniques to support project profitability

Requirements

Experience with electrical and mechanical installations preferred but not essential
Strong interest in construction estimation, cost control, and engineering processes
Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills
Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and suppliers
Ability to prioritise tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) is preferred
Eagerness to learn new skills and develop a comprehensive understanding of electrical and mechanical estimating processes

Pay: £26,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
