The Role
We are looking for a technically capable Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Services team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to further develop their technical expertise across a wide variety of projects and sectors. Working alongside experienced colleagues, you'll take ownership of mechanical and public health designs across all RIBA stages, contributing to projects from concept through to completion while continuing to broaden your technical knowledge and project experience.

What You'll Be Doing
Technical Delivery
- Delivering mechanical and public health design across RIBA Stages 1–7 on a diverse range of projects
- Producing mechanical calculations including heating and cooling loads, ventilation requirements and system sizing
- Designing HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation and public health systems appropriate to each project
- Producing and coordinating AutoCAD drawings and REVIT models
- Preparing specifications, design reports and technical documentation
- Applying relevant Building Regulations, CIBSE guidance and industry standards throughout project delivery
- Supporting the development of energy-efficient and low-carbon building services solutions
- Collaborating with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers and the wider multidisciplinary design team
Project & Team Responsibilities
- Managing your own workload while supporting the successful delivery of multiple projects
- Mentoring and supporting junior engineers and technicians where appropriate
- Taking an active role in CPD and working towards professional membership or Chartership
- Contributing to technical excellence, innovation and continuous improvement across the team
- Undertaking any other duties reasonably required
What We Are Looking For
- HNC/HND, degree or equivalent qualification in Building Services Engineering (Mechanical), Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, with 4–6 years' Building Services experience
- A strong understanding of HVAC and mechanical building services design principles
- Experience designing heating, cooling, ventilation and public health systems across a range of projects
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, with REVIT experience desirable
- Experience using mechanical design and calculation software such as IES VE, Hevacomp or equivalent
- Good understanding of Building Regulations, CIBSE guidance and relevant industry standards
- Able to manage your own workload and contribute to the successful delivery of projects with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Working towards professional membership or Chartership with CIBSE, IMechE or an equivalent professional body
- Right to work in the UK and ideally a full UK driving licence
