Arabic Tutor – Secondary (KS3 & GCSE) Location: Our Little Journey Learning Centre Job Type: Part-time / Flexible hours Salary: Competitive, based on experience About Us: Our Little Journey Learning Centre is an Ofsted-registered education provider supporting children aged 6–16 through Government-funded childcare and homework support programmes. We take pride in creating a safe, positive, and motivating learning environment where every child can thrive. About the Role: We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Arabic Tutor to deliver engaging lessons for secondary students (KS3–GCSE). The successful candidate will help students improve their literacy, writing, and exam skills in small, focused groups. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced GCSE - Primary Arabic Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive Arabic instruction to secondary students, preparing them for GCSE examinations. This role requires a passion for literacy education, strong classroom management skills, and the ability to foster a positive learning environment. The teacher will also contribute to curriculum development and utilize various learning technologies to enhance student understanding. Prior experience in higher education teaching, private schools, or special education settings is highly valued.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and examination requirements.
Deliver effective instruction in Arabic language and literature, incorporating creative writing, linguistics, and research components.
Assess student progress through standardized testing, assignments, and class participation; provide constructive feedback.
Maintain classroom discipline and manage behavior to create a safe, inclusive, and productive learning environment.
Utilize instructional design principles and learning technology tools to support diverse learning styles.
Mentor students academically and personally, offering guidance on coursework, exam preparation, and career pathways.
Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, lesson planning, and school initiatives.
Incorporate proofreading, copy editing (including AP style and Chicago Manual of Style), and literacy strategies into daily teaching practices.
Engage in professional development activities related to education administration, Montessori methods, or special education as needed.
Support extracurricular activities such as tutoring sessions or library services that promote literacy and academic success.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Arabic, Linguistics, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
Proven experience teaching Arabic at the secondary level with a focus on GCSE preparation.
Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment strategies.
Familiarity with standardized testing formats and educational research methodologies.
Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal—with the ability to motivate students.
Proficiency in classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies.
Experience working with diverse student populations including those requiring special education accommodations or behavior support plans.
Ability to incorporate learning technology effectively into lesson delivery.
Knowledge of AP style, Chicago Manual of Style, proofreading techniques, and copy editing is advantageous.
