We are seeking a proactive and client-focused Paralegal to join our Clinical Negligence Support Team in Manchester.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious legal professional looking to build a career in Clinical Negligence. You'll play a vital role in supporting fee earners with client onboarding, file management and case administration, ensuring exceptional client care and compliance with National Practice Standards.
You will be involved from the outset of a client's journey, taking initial instructions, preparing retainer documentation and supporting the progression of clinical negligence matters in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities
Client Onboarding & Case Support

Take detailed initial instructions from prospective clients by telephone using prescribed documentation.

Draft retainer and funding documentation.

Complete Know Your Client (KYC) and compliance checks.

Deliver a high standard of client care throughout the onboarding process.

Handle preliminary enquiries and assist with the investigation of potential claims.

Proactively manage new enquiries to maximise client retention and minimise loss to competitors.
File Management

Support fee earners in the management of client matters in accordance with National Practice Standards (NPS).

Provide legal and administrative assistance across a varied clinical negligence caseload.

Prepare funding and retainer packs for new clients.

Complete risk assessments on new matters.

Maintain accurate case records and documentation.

Achieve individual time recording targets and other relevant KPIs.
Financial Management

Ensure accurate and timely recording of chargeable and non-chargeable time.

Support fee earners in achieving financial and operational objectives.

Assist with the effective management of the financial aspects of client matters.
