Full job description

Forklift Truck Depot Limited is an established material handling company based in Barnsley, providing forklift sales, hire, servicing, repairs, LOLER inspections and specialist VNA services to customers across the UK.

We are looking for two confident, reliable and organised people to join our office team and be trained across all aspects of our day-to-day office operations.

This is a busy and varied role working directly with customers, engineers and suppliers while managing jobs, bookings and customer information through our Protean management system.

Main duties will include:

Answering calls and emails and dealing with customer enquiries
Booking servicing, repairs, breakdowns and LOLER inspections
Managing engineer diaries and workloads
Raising and managing jobs on Protean
Preparing and sending quotations
Following up outstanding quotes and enquiries
Processing forklift sales and hire enquiries
Arranging hire bookings, deliveries and collections
Raising purchase orders and ordering parts
Liaising with customers, engineers and suppliers
Processing completed jobs ready for invoicing
Maintaining accurate customer, site and contact information on Protean
General office administration and record keeping
Supporting occasional business development, customer follow-ups, telesales and LinkedIn/Facebook activity as part of the wider office role

Both successful candidates will be trained across the full office function so responsibilities can be shared and either person can confidently provide cover.

About you

We are looking for someone who is confident, reliable, organised and able to use their own initiative.

You should be comfortable speaking to customers on the telephone, managing several tasks at once and working with computer-based systems.

Previous experience in office administration, service coordination, engineering, hire, transport, logistics, automotive or a similar service-based environment would be a strong advantage.

Forklift industry experience is not essential as full training will be provided.
