Join our vibrant after school club team as anAfter School Club Deputy Childcare Manager! In this energetic and rewarding role, you will support the delivery of high-quality childcare services for children after school, ensuring a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children aged between 3-11 years. The successful applicant will work within a school in Chester-le-Street during opening hours and work remotely outside of these times.You’ll assist in managing daily operations, supervising staff and children, and creating memorable experiences that promote learning and fun. Job Description:
This role involves ensuring that they are working within company policy and procedures. monitoring and maintaining a healthy, safe and secure working environment, working to EYFS and Ofsted Requirements, managing a staff team and liaising effectively with Ofsted, parents and carers and the school.
Candidates should have experience of working with children, in a similar setting or in a supervisory position. They should be able to communicate well with children and adults and most of all must enjoy being with children.
Desirable Qualifications
- Childcare/teaching qualification Level 3 or above
- Supervisory experience

The successful applicant will be required to provide an enhanced disclosure (DBS). The position is subject to a probationary period and the obtaining of acceptable references.
There is some flexibility in days and hours worked for suitable candidates. Full time working would be 37 hours per week tailored around opening hours. A term time only position may be available. The salary range is negotiable dependent on experience, duties and hours worked.

Duties
- Support the Childcare Manager in overseeing daily club operations, ensuring smooth and efficient running of activities
- Supervise and motivate a team of childcare assistants and activity leaders to deliver engaging programs
- Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote creativity, social skills, and learning
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by adhering to safeguarding policies and health & safety regulations
- Foster a welcoming environment that encourages children’s independence, confidence, and enjoyment
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children’s progress, behaviour, and daily events
- Support with administrative tasks such as attendance records, activity planning, and maintaining a clean, organized setting
Requirements
- Proven experience in childcare, teaching or similar roles with children of various ages
- Strong understanding of child development principles and safeguarding procedures
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Passionate about working with children and creating positive experiences for them
