Full job description

Flexible hours
Mostly evening bar work for a variety of different shows and events
Weekend day work for weddings also available
Previous bar experience is useful but not essential

Duties and responsibilities

The Marine Theatre has built a reputation for quality live music, comedy and live events. As part of the theatre team, the Marine bar staff are an essential part of the theatre’s face-to-face customer engagement. Bar staff responsibilities are serving drinks, restocking the fridges and washing & drying glasses. As part of the larger theatre team, bar staff are sometimes asked to help with other tasks in the theatre.

In addition, we would love to hear from anyone with experience of making cocktails.

Tasks include:

Preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
Using our tablets to take orders and payments
Checking customer identification when necessary
Engaging with customers in a friendly and polite manner
Maintaining a clean and organised bar area, including quickly responding to spills and other health and safety hazards
Monitoring and replenishing bar stock
Selling bar snacks
Clearing glasses and cleaning bar tables, wiping surfaces and operating the glasswasher. Polishing all glassware to ensure quality service for all customers.
