Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our culinary operations within a fast-paced environment, ensuring that the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in the hospitality and culinary fields, particularly within a hotel or restaurant setting.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of hygiene and safety are maintained.
Keep the kitchen area clean and organised, including washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils promptly.
Support chefs and cooks by preparing ingredients and maintaining stock levels of supplies.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained properly to ensure optimal performance.
Help with the disposal of waste and recycling in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Assist in receiving deliveries and storing food items appropriately.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during busy service periods.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting.
A good understanding of food hygiene practices and health & safety regulations is preferred.
Ability to work well as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends as required by the business needs.
A passion for food and the culinary arts is desirable, along with an eagerness to assist chefs in delivering exceptional dining experiences.
