Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our construction and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost estimation, budgeting, and financial control throughout the project lifecycle. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects, ensuring financial efficiency and project success. The ideal applicant will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of construction processes, and expertise in cost control techniques.

Duties

Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects in collaboration with project managers and engineers.
Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, ensuring adherence to budgets and identifying potential overruns early.
Conduct regular financial assessments, analysing variances between estimated and actual costs.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure favourable terms while maintaining quality standards.
Manage procurement processes, including tendering and awarding contracts.
Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to each project for audit purposes.
Collaborate with design teams to value engineer solutions that optimise cost efficiency without compromising quality or safety.
Provide advice on contractual claims, variations, and risk management strategies.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and company policies concerning financial management.

Skills

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
Strong expertise in cost control methods and financial analysis.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficient in industry-standard software such as CostX, Bluebeam, or equivalent programmes.
Effective negotiation and communication skills to liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
Knowledge of current building regulations, standards, and contractual frameworks.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team. This role is ideal for professionals committed to delivering financially successful projects through meticulous planning and control while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Pay: £55,000.00-£80,000.00 per year
