Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Wood Machinist - Bench Hand to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and finishing wooden components with precision and efficiency. This role offers an opportunity to work with a variety of tools and machinery, contributing to high-quality craftsmanship in a dynamic environment. The position is suitable for individuals with a passion for woodworking and mechanical processes.

Responsibilities

Operate hand tools and woodworking machinery to fabricate wooden house panels according to specifications.
Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD models to ensure accurate production.
Perform drilling and assembly tasks with attention to detail.
Handle materials safely and efficiently within the warehouse or workshop setting.
Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety standards.
Assist in tooling setup, adjustments, and maintenance of equipment.
Apply basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks.
Collaborate with team members on projects involving materials handling, fabrication, and assembly.

Qualifications

Proven experience in fabrication, woodworking, or manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with CAD software and working to drawings
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and machining
Mechanical knowledge related to materials handling, tooling, and assembly processes.
Ability to read technical drawings and perform basic math calculations accurately.
Experience in warehouse operations or materials management is advantageous.
Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail; ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Good communication skills and a proactive approach to safety procedures.
