About Us

Premier Coating & Converters is a specialist manufacturer providing high-quality coating and converting solutions to a wide range of industries. Based in Andover, we pride ourselves on precision, reliability, and continuous improvement across our production operations. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a skilled Engineering & Maintenance Technician to join our team and help keep our operations running smoothly.

The Role

We are seeking a proactive Engineering & Maintenance Technician to carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), breakdown repairs, and continuous improvement work across our coating and converting machinery. You'll play a key role in minimising downtime, maintaining a safe working environment, and supporting production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out routine planned preventative maintenance on production machinery and site equipment
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic/hydraulic faults quickly and safely
Respond to breakdowns promptly to minimise production downtime
Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs
Support installation, commissioning, and modification of new and existing equipment
Identify opportunities for process and equipment improvements
Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety regulations and site procedures
Manage and monitor spare parts inventory, ordering replacement stock as required
Liaise with external contractors and suppliers when specialist support is needed
Participate in an on-call/shift rota where applicable to support production needs

What We're Looking For

Essential:

Recognised engineering qualification (NVQ/City & Guilds/apprenticeship or equivalent) in mechanical, electrical, or multi-skilled maintenance
Proven experience in an industrial or manufacturing maintenance role
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills across mechanical and electrical systems
Good understanding of health & safety practices in a production environment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexible approach, with willingness to support occasional shift work

Desirable:

Experience within coating, converting, printing, or similar process manufacturing environments
Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Forklift licence
