Performing Arts: help deliver ambitious productions, concerts and live events in the G.W. Annenberg Performing Arts Centre and Christopher Lee Theatre.
Join Wellington College and play a key role in supporting a dynamic, ambitious and values-led school where creativity, collaboration and excellence are at the heart of College life. Located in Crowthorne, Berkshire, our 400 acre estate provides a distinctive and inspiring place to work.
The Theatre and AV Technician will play an important role in supporting the delivery of productions, performances and events across the College. Working as part of the Theatre Technical team, you will help provide lighting, sound, video and stage support for a varied programme that includes drama, music and dance productions, concerts, lectures, live-streamed events and major College occasions.
The role offers the opportunity to work across Wellington's exceptional performing arts venues, including the award-winning G.W. Annenberg Performing Arts Centre, with its 916-seat auditorium, and the Christopher Lee Theatre. Recent productions have included large-scale musicals, original pupil-written works and immersive theatre, providing a varied and engaging technical programme throughout the year.
This is a hands-on and varied position suited to an individual who enjoys working in a live production environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality technical support. Whether supporting rehearsals, performances, conferences or College events, you will work with a wide range of lighting, sound, video and stage technologies while contributing to the successful delivery of a busy programme of activity.
A particularly rewarding aspect of the role is the opportunity to work alongside pupils who share an enthusiasm for theatre and production. As part of the wider technical team, you will help support and encourage students who are developing their technical theatre skills, sharing your knowledge and experience in a practical and engaging environment.
The role offers opportunities to broaden your technical expertise across lighting, sound, video production, live streaming and event technology, while working with professional-standard equipment and experienced colleagues.
We are seeking a proactive and organised individual with experience of technical theatre, live events or a similar setting. You will be a strong team player, able to work calmly under pressure and committed to delivering a professional service to performers, colleagues, visitors and audiences.
You will join a collaborative school community where your contribution is recognised and valued. Wellington offers training and development opportunities to support your growth, and you’ll work with colleagues who are dedicated to delivering high quality service across the College.
