Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Early Years Practitioner to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and supporting early childhood education activities, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your management and leadership skills whilst fostering the development of young children in a professional setting.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise a team of early years practitioners, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards of care and education.
Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging age-appropriate activities that promote children’s development across all areas.
Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication.
Monitor and record children's progress, ensuring individual needs are met and documented accurately.
Support the implementation of policies related to safeguarding, behaviour management, and inclusive practice.
Assist with organising daily routines such as meal times, naps, and play sessions.
Contribute to ongoing staff training programmes to promote professional development within the team.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to early childhood education.

Skills

Proven management and leadership experience within early years or childcare settings.
Extensive experience working with children in nursery or early childhood education environments.
Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in childcare.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively within a busy environment.
Compassionate approach with a genuine passion for supporting young children’s growth and learning.
Good organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and planning.
Valid driving licence is desirable for travelling between different settings or parent meetings.

This role is ideal for an enthusiastic professional committed to making a positive impact on young children's lives through leadership, innovation, and dedicated care.

Pay: £15.00 per hour
