Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Plant Delivery / Collection Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting Plant machinery across various locations, ensuring timely deliveries/collections and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for driving and a commitment to excellence in transportation.

Duties

Flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles in compliance with road safety regulations and company policies
Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules
Load and unload goods, ensuring proper securing of cargo to prevent damage during transit
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify any maintenance or safety issues
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery times, any unforeseen delays and any plant damage
Coaching customers in safe operation of plant machinery
Adhere to all legal requirements related to commercial driving, including hours of service regulations
Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and well-maintained throughout the day
Mandatory morning attendance 8:30am-12pm every other Saturday

Experience

Proven experience as a delivery / commercial driver, preferably with flatbed and plant machinery (forklift, telehandler, boom lift etc) operations
Demonstrable driving skills with a clean driving record
Full Driver CPC, driver card and digi-tacho
Knowledge of Plant - with appropriate training to drive & manoeuvre
Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving
Familiarity with route planning tools and GPS systems is advantageous

This position requires a dedicated individual with a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and customer satisfaction. Candidates should possess relevant driving experience, particularly with flatbed vehicles and commercial driving. The role offers an engaging environment for those passionate about logistics and transportation.
