Join Our Growing Rail Infrastructure Team

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to develop your career within the UK rail industry?

At Cleshar, we deliver essential infrastructure and maintenance services across the National Rail network. Due to continued growth, we're looking for a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor to join our team and help deliver high-profile rail projects safely, efficiently and profitably.

What You'll Be Doing

As our Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in ensuring the commercial success of multiple rail contracts by:

Preparing monthly valuations, interim and final accounts, payment applications and cost assessments.
Managing commercial performance across allocated projects.
Producing accurate cost forecasts, budgets and cash flow reports.
Managing contract variations and ensuring robust financial control.
Procuring and administering subcontract packages.
Reviewing contract documentation to identify risks and protect the company's commercial position.
Measuring completed works on site and agreeing valuations with clients.
Supporting tender submissions and pricing activities.
Working closely with Project Managers and operational teams to manage change and contractual events.
Building and maintaining excellent relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
Attending site meetings and providing commercial advice throughout project delivery.

What We're Looking For

Essential

Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor.
Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
Strong commercial awareness and contract management skills.
Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
Confident communicator with strong negotiation skills.
Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
High attention to detail.
A proactive and collaborative approach to problem solving.

Desirable

Previous experience within the rail industry or rail maintenance.
Knowledge of Network Rail Standards.
Experience compiling CDM documentation.
