About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Learning & Development Manager to join our People & Performance team on a 12 month fixed term contract covering a period of Maternity Leave. Working with the Head of People & Performance, you will support the smooth running of the Learning & Development function and help shape learning strategies that align with our wider People and Performance and business objectives.
This role will ensure our teams are equipped with the skills, knowledge and capabilities needed to perform effectively in a fast-paced and growing environment. You will provide coaching and support to the Learning & Development team, oversee learning delivery and evaluation, and use insight and data to drive continuous improvement.
Principle duties and responsibilities:
Learning & Development Leadership

Managing the day-to-day operations of the Learning & Development function, overseeing the planning, delivery and evaluation of internal and external learning initiatives in line with the People & Performance and Learning & Development strategy.

Managing, coaching and supporting Learning & Development Facilitators, ensuring high standards of delivery, consistency of learner experience and continuous development of facilitation capability.

Working closely with managers to identify current and future learning needs through learning needs analysis, providing insights and recommendations to inform the wider Learning & Development and People & Performance strategy.

Supporting the Head of People & Performance in the development, implementation and continuous review of Psicon's Learning & Development strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and professional development priorities.
Learning Programmes, Systems and Content

Taking ownership of Psicon's induction programme, ensuring new starters feel welcome, understand their roles and embody Psicon’s values from day one.

Overseeing the Psicon Learning Management System, Psicon Academy, ensuring accurate recording, accessibility and effective management information reporting.

Supporting the design, development and delivery of face-to-face and online workshops, e-learning modules and other learning solutions that cater to diverse learning styles and business needs.
Evaluation, Reporting and Project Support

Measuring and reporting on the impact, effectiveness and return on investment of learning initiatives, providing data-driven insights to the Head of People & Performance to inform strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.

Supporting key business and learning projects by collaborating with the Head of People & Performance to deliver learning solutions that enable successful adoption with measurable results.

Building positive relationships across the organisation to ensure learning activity is relevant, accessible and aligned to operational and clinical priorities.
What we're looking for

Experience working in a Learning & Development role, ideally with responsibility for coordinating, delivering or leading learning activity across an organisation.

Experience managing, coaching or supporting team members, with the ability to develop facilitation capability and promote consistent standards.

Strong understanding of learning needs analysis, learning design, delivery methods and evaluation approaches.

Experience using a Learning Management System, with confidence maintaining accurate records, producing reports and using data to inform improvement.

Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Confident communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships across clinical, operational and support teams.

A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

Experience designing or quality assuring learning content, resources or e-learning materials is desirable.

Experience working within healthcare or another regulated environment is desirable.

A CIPD, learning and development, coaching or training qualification would be advantageous.

Interview Process
Our recruitment process consists of two stages.
Shortlisted candidates will first be invited to attend an interview via Microsoft Teams to meet the recruitment panel.
Candidates who are successful at this stage will then be invited to a final face-to-face interview at our Canterbury office. As part of the final stage, candidates will be required to deliver a 10-minute presentation to the interview panel. Full details of the presentation will be provided in advance, allowing sufficient time for preparation.
