We are seeking a Design Coordinator to join our team at our office in Wapping, London. Working alongside the Design Manager, you will support the coordination and delivery of design information throughout the project.
This would be an excellent opportunity for someone with an architectural background, ideally Part 2 qualified, who is looking to develop their career within design management and gain hands-on experience on a live construction project.
- Work alongside the Design Manager to coordinate design information across the project.
- Review drawings, specifications and technical information to identify discrepancies, clashes and missing information.
- Coordinate design information between consultants, subcontractors and the wider project team.
- Assist with the management and tracking of design deliverables and ensure information is issued in line with the project programme.
- Support the RFI process, ensuring queries are raised, tracked and closed out in a timely manner.
- Attend design, progress and technical meetings, recording and following up on actions where required.
- Assist with the review of subcontractor design information and specialist packages.
- Maintain accurate design records and ensure project information is correctly managed through Procore.
- Support the Design Manager in identifying and managing design risks and opportunities.
- Liaise with the site and project teams to resolve design queries and ensure the latest information is available.
- Assist with statutory approvals, including Building Control and planning matters where required.
- Carry out site visits and inspections to review design implementation and support the resolution of technical issues.
- An architectural or construction-related background, ideally with a Part 2 architectural qualification.
- Previous experience in architecture, design coordination or a construction design role.
- A good understanding of construction detailing, drawings and technical information.
- Strong AutoCAD and MS Office skills.
- Experience with document management systems; knowledge of Procore would be beneficial.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working with consultants, subcontractors and project teams.
- A proactive and collaborative approach, with strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of English Building Regulations.
- An interest in developing a long-term career in construction design management.
