About the Role
Teach A Trade is a growing technical training provider delivering gas, electrical, renewable energy, refrigeration and building-services qualifications.
We are looking for an experienced Gas and Electrical Training Centre Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of our training centre in Telford.
This is a senior position with responsibility for staff management, quality assurance, curriculum delivery, learner performance, compliance and commercial growth.
The successful candidate will be given the authority and support needed to improve performance, maintain high standards and take operational responsibility away from the Managing Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage tutors, assessors, IQAs and delivery staff.
- Oversee gas, electrical and renewable-energy training programmes.
- Manage course timetables, staffing, resources and practical facilities.
- Ensure programmes meet awarding-organisation and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare for EQA visits, audits and centre reviews.
- Manage internal quality assurance, sampling and standardisation.
- Monitor learner attendance, progress, achievement and satisfaction.
- Address staff performance, workload and development needs.
- Ensure assessment and certification are completed accurately and on time.
- Maintain safe, organised and professional workshops and classrooms.
- Support the introduction of new qualifications and commercial courses.
- Monitor course capacity, delivery efficiency and financial performance.
- Build strong relationships with employers, learners and awarding organisations.
- Provide regular operational and performance reports to the Managing Director.
Essential Requirements
- Significant experience in gas, electrical, building-services or technical training.
- Previous experience managing a training centre, curriculum area or delivery team.
- Recognised assessor qualification, such as A1, D32/D33 or TAQA.
- Recognised internal quality assurance qualification, such as V1, D34 or TAQA.
- Relevant gas, electrical or building-services qualifications.
- Experience working with awarding organisations and external quality assurers.
- Strong knowledge of vocational assessment and quality assurance.
- Experience managing tutors, assessors or technical staff.
- Strong organisational, leadership and communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Experience
- Experience across both gas and electrical training.
- Experience managing ACS gas provision.
- Experience managing electrical qualifications, NVQs or EWA provision.
- Experience with City & Guilds, EAL, BPEC, NICEIC or LCL Awards.
- Teaching qualification.
- Experience with Skills Bootcamps, funded training or Ofsted.
- Knowledge of Solar PV, EV Charging, EESS, F-Gas or heat pump training.
- Experience within an independent training provider.
