Alamiyah Home Education Centre is a pioneering Muslim Montessori Home Education Support Service in Essex/East London providing tuition to students aged 7+ in core subjects. We are currently seeking a private tutor for a small group of children aged 11 to 14 years who has a passion for teaching to join the Alamiyah team.

(Core hours 9:00am-1:00pm Monday to Thursday)

Job Description
Alamiyah Home Education Centre is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and attentive tutor to teach English, Maths and Science to a small group of students aged 11 to 14 years. This is a rare opportunity to join an innovative and unique Montessori Home Education support service with a Muslim Faith Ethos, to drive forward the learning needs of the pupils. We are seeking a dynamic individual who has a passion for engaging and teaching children and a deep interest in mathematics to come forward and help us shape an education which can serve the needs of all children.
The successful candidate will:

- successfully engage each individual pupil through the employment of a Montessori pedagogy
- respond to the needs of the children through a positive approach to discipline
- have the ability to relate well to pupils, parents, staff and external agencies
- be committed to the Muslim faith ethos and Montessori approach at Alamiyah
- be willing to engage in CPD training held in house and externally
- be passionate about furthering the aims and objectives of the education centre
Main Duties:
- Planning for each pupil individually using the Alamiyah tutor planning formats
- Presenting group lessons during the morning workcycle
- Performing observations and assessments
- Overseeing pupils during the workcycle
- Maintaining assessment records and tracking pupil progress
- Writing reports and providing feedback to parents and to the Executive Director
- Providing care to pupils including outdoor play and snack supervision
- Maintaining a tidy and organized learning environment
