Job Summary

Join our dynamic team as a Vehicle Technician and MOT Tester, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining vehicle safety and performance. This energetic position involves diagnosing, repairing, and servicing a wide range of vehicles with precision and enthusiasm. As a key member of our workshop, you'll ensure vehicles meet all safety standards through thorough MOT testing, while delivering exceptional service to our customers. Your mechanical expertise and proactive attitude will drive the success of our service department and keep vehicles running smoothly on the road. MOT TEST Requirements Classes 1 to 7

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to diagnose mechanical issues using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems including brakes, engines, transmissions, suspension, and electrical components
Carry out MOT testing in accordance with legal requirements to certify vehicle safety and roadworthiness
Utilize mechanical knowledge to identify problems quickly and implement effective solutions efficiently
Handle heavy lifting safely when moving or installing vehicle parts or equipment
Maintain detailed service records, repair logs, and MOT documentation accurately
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards

Skills

Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and components
Proficiency in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.
Experience with power tools for vehicle repairs and maintenance tasks
Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly
Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail during inspections and repairs
Good communication skills to explain technical issues clearly to customers and team members
Valid certification as an MOT Tester is highly desirable but not mandatory; training can be provided for the right candidate
