Up to £60,000 DOE | Full-Time | Permanent or 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract Available

At Charter Vets we're looking for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our welcoming practice. Whether you're seeking a permanent position or would prefer a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave, we'd love to hear from you.

You'll work alongside experienced Small Animal Vets and a dedicated team of Registered Veterinary Nurses, auxiliary nurses, and reception colleagues who are passionate about providing exceptional care to both patients and clients.

As part of the wider Charter “pod” of practices, you’ll also benefit from collaboration across nearby clinics — giving you access to shared expertise and support when you need it.

The Role

Based predominantly in our thriving Congleton branch or for a permanent position you will work across both our Congleton and Newcastle-under-Lyme branches.

This position offers a rewarding mix of consultations and surgery, allowing you to manage a varied caseload while building lasting relationships with clients and their pets.

Working pattern:

Full-time, 4-day working week
Practice opening hours: 8:30am - 6:30pm
2:11 Saturday morning rota (9:00am - 1:00pm) shared across local practices
No out-of-hours or bank holiday commitments

About You

We're looking for a Veterinary Surgeon who:

Has experience working in a busy first-opinion small animal practice
Enjoys being part of a collaborative and supportive team
Is confident with routine consultations and surgical procedures
Takes pride in delivering outstanding patient and client care
Wants to continue developing their skills in a positive, encouraging environment
