Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bakery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our bakery operations, ensuring that our products are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety. This position is perfect for individuals with a passion for food production and culinary arts, who thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The role is initially part-time but could lead to a full-time role. The working hours are Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of various baked goods, including bread, pastries, and cakes.
Follow food safety guidelines to maintain hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen.
Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes and specifications.
Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, and scales safely and efficiently.
Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and assist with restocking as needed.
Collaborate with the bakery team to ensure timely production and delivery of products.
Maintain an organised workspace, ensuring all tools and equipment are cleaned after use.
Support the Bakery Manager with any additional tasks as required.

Experience

Previous experience in a bakery or culinary setting is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm for learning is key.
Familiarity with food safety practices is highly desirable.
Skills in food preparation, cooking, or food production will be advantageous.
A strong team player with excellent communication skills.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
