Full job description

**£13.50 per hour plus approx £3k gratuities per year.**

We are recruiting for a Full-Time Pub Chef de Partie to join the team at at the Village Inn Pub, Thurlestone Hotel & Spa.

Live in accommodation is available in our fully refurbished staff accommodation just a 10 minutes’ walk from the hotel.

The Village Inn is a part of the wider Thurlestone Estate, serving real ales, great gastro pub food and good cheer to everyone from new guests to old locals. The Village Inn is connected to the luxury, family-owned, 4-star 65-bedroom hotel situated on the spectacular South Devon coast. The hotel also houses the 2 AA Rosette Trevilder Restaurant, Voyage Spa, 9-hole golf course, as well as a range of sports facilities including tennis and a seasonal kids club.

About the role

You will be require to assist in the preparation of the mise en place, prep lists and service of dishes at meal times. To ensure your section is clean, well-stocked and organised ready for service. It is a vital part of the position to keep food quality for both guests and staff to the best standard potentially possible.

Key Responsibilities

Preparing, cooking and presenting high quality dishes within the speciality section
Assisting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in creating menu items, recipes and developing dishes
Preparing meat and fish
Assisting with the management of health and safety
Assisting with the management of food hygiene practices
Managing and training any Commis Chefs
Monitoring portion and waste control
Overseeing the maintenance of kitchen and food safety standards
