Community Fundraising Manager – Birmingham

Location: Birmingham (Field Based)

Job Type: Full Time

Salary: Competitive (Dependent on Experience)

About Alianah

Alianah Humanity Welfare is a UK charity dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities through emergency relief, food, clean water, medical aid, education and sustainable development projects across the UK and internationally.

Since 2018, we have helped thousands of families through the generosity of our supporters and volunteers. We are now expanding our presence across the UK and are looking for an exceptional individual to lead our work in Birmingham.

The Role

This is not a typical fundraising role.

We are looking for someone who will become the face of Alianah across Birmingham, building relationships throughout the community, growing our volunteer network, organising fundraising activities and developing long-term partnerships that help us support more people in need.

You will have the freedom to grow the city, generate new ideas and build a thriving fundraising operation.

Key Responsibilities

Community Fundraising

Organise and lead fundraising campaigns across Birmingham.
Plan and deliver fundraising events throughout the year.
Support supporters with community fundraising initiatives.
Recruit individuals to take on fundraising challenges.
Increase monthly and regular giving.

Mosque Partnerships

Build relationships with mosques across Birmingham.
Arrange Friday collections and fundraising talks.
Secure Ramadan, Qurbani and emergency appeal fundraising opportunities.
Maintain long-term relationships with mosque committees and imams.

Street Collections

Organise street collections.
Recruit and manage volunteers.
Ensure collections are well organised and compliant.
Manage fundraising equipment and collection materials.

Volunteer Management

Recruit new volunteers.
Build and lead volunteer teams.
Train and motivate volunteers.
Create volunteer leaders who can support future fundraising activities.

Community Engagement

Represent Alianah at community events.
Build relationships with schools, madrasahs and local organisations.
Attend networking events.
Increase Alianah's presence across Birmingham.

Business Partnerships

Develop relationships with local businesses.
Secure sponsorship opportunities.
Introduce charity collection boxes.
Build long-term corporate partnerships.

Administration

Maintain accurate fundraising records.
Submit weekly activity reports.
Monitor fundraising performance.
Help plan future fundraising campaigns.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

Positive, energetic and driven.
Willing to work some evenings and weekends when required.

Essential Requirements

Excellent communication skills.
Full UK driving licence.
Access to a vehicle.
Right to work in the UK.
Strong organisational skills.
Comfortable using email, Microsoft Office and basic online systems.

Desirable

Previous fundraising experience.
Charity sector experience.
Experience working with volunteers.
Experience organising events.
Knowledge of the local Muslim community.
Existing relationships with mosques or community organisations.
