The Red Lion is reopening its doors following a full refurbishment, and we’re looking for an exceptional Kitchen Supervisor to help lead our kitchen team into a landmark new chapter.

Located in the heart of Birmingham’s vibrant Jewellery Quarter, The Red Lion combines the character of a traditional pub with a fresh new look, great food, and outstanding guest experiences. About the role

As one of the senior members of the kitchen team, the Kitchen Supervisor will work closely with the Executive Chef to help lead the day-to-day operation of the kitchen. The role requires a strong understanding of the business, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to identify potential issues before they impact service.

The successful candidate will play an important role in training and supporting junior team members, maintaining high standards of food quality, and ensuring all food production is carried out efficiently within a safe, clean and well-maintained environment.

What you'll get up to

Ensuring the workspace is well maintained
Practicing high levels of cleanliness and tidiness
Keeping a strict and thorough process of due diligence
Creating pizza specials and assisting with menu creation
Training and team leading
Stock and waste management
Quality control

What we're looking for

Essential

Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Senior Chef de Partie or Kitchen Supervisor.
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
Strong understanding of kitchen compliance and due diligence.
Passion for quality food and fresh ingredients.
Excellent organisation and communication skills.

Desirable

Experience working with fresh dough and pizza concepts.
Experience supervising or mentoring kitchen teams.
Experience contributing to menu development.
