Job Overview
The Marketing Assistant is responsible for developing, managing, and delivering the organisation’s social media strategy across all digital platforms. Working closely with the Operations Manager and senior leadership team, you will play a key role in increasing brand awareness, promoting the organisation’s services, strengthening online presence, and engaging with current and potential clients, employees, and stakeholders.
The role involves creating engaging and professional content, managing social media channels, developing campaigns, promoting company achievements, supporting recruitment activity, and building a strong digital presence that reflects the organisation’s values and reputation.
You will be responsible for creating innovative content across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and other relevant channels. You will monitor engagement, analyse performance, identify opportunities for growth, and ensure the organisation remains visible, active, and competitive within the healthcare and social care sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to increase brand awareness, engagement, and business growth.
- Manage all company social media platforms, including planning, creating, scheduling, publishing, and monitoring content.
- Create engaging content including posts, videos, reels, graphics, articles, campaigns, and promotional materials.
- Develop and maintain a social media content calendar to ensure consistent and effective communication.
- Promote the organisation’s services, values, achievements, events, and success stories across digital platforms.
- Create content that highlights the organisation’s culture, employees, services, and positive impact within the community.
- Support recruitment campaigns by creating engaging content to attract high-quality candidates and promote the organisation as an employer of choice.
- Work closely with operational teams to gather stories, updates, photographs, and content opportunities.
- Capture and create visual content, including photography and video, for use across social media platforms.
- Develop campaigns to increase audience reach, engagement, enquiries, and brand recognition.
- Monitor social media trends, platform updates, and industry developments to identify new opportunities.
- Engage with followers, respond to comments and messages professionally, and encourage positive online interactions.
- Monitor online reviews, feedback, and discussions relating to the organisation, escalating concerns where appropriate.
- Analyse social media performance using platform insights and analytics tools, producing regular reports and recommendations.
- Identify successful content strategies and continuously improve engagement and reach.
- Support marketing activities including digital campaigns, newsletters, promotional materials, and company announcements.
- Maintain consistent branding, tone of voice, and messaging across all communication channels.
- Work with external partners, community organisations, and stakeholders to promote the organisation and increase visibility.
- Research competitors and industry trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Manage paid social media campaigns and advertising activity where required.
- Ensure all content reflects the professionalism, values, and reputation of the organisation.
- Maintain organised records of campaigns, content schedules, performance reports, and marketing activity.
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the level of the role.
Essential
- Experience working in social media management, digital marketing, communications, or a similar role.
- Proven experience managing social media platforms and growing online engagement.
- Strong understanding of platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and other relevant channels.
- Experience creating engaging written and visual content.
- Strong creative skills with the ability to develop fresh and engaging content ideas.
- Excellent written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Experience using social media scheduling tools and analytics platforms.
- Ability to create professional content including graphics, videos, and promotional materials.
- Good understanding of digital marketing principles and audience engagement.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and content creation software.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and use initiative.
Desirable
- Experience working within health and social care, healthcare recruitment, or a regulated service environment.
- Experience creating video content, reels, and short-form social media content.
- Knowledge of paid social media advertising, including Meta Ads and LinkedIn campaigns.
- Experience using design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms.
- Marketing, communications, digital media, or social media qualification.
- Experience supporting recruitment marketing and employer branding.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between services when required.
