Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant school in Morecambe. This role involves working on a 1:2:1 basis with a child in reception. The position is ideal for someone who is familiar with Makaton or is willing to undertake training before September 2026. This is a morning-only role with the potential to increase hours based on the pupil's requirements.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Work closely with a reception-aged child on a 1:2:1 basis, focusing on their educational and developmental needs.
- Implement learning activities and support mechanisms under the guidance of the lead teacher.
- Use Makaton to communicate effectively with the child, enhancing their learning experience.
- Monitor the childs progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher.
- Adapt to the child's educational and emotional needs, ensuring a supportive learning environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant or a similar role in an educational setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of Makaton or willingness to undergo training before the start date.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to the full academic year with a start date of 1st September 2026.
