Full job description

Job Title: Hotel Receptionist

Reports to: Reception Manager

Department: Blackpool Football Club Hotel

Hours: Zero Hours

Job Purpose:

To be the first point of contact for all visitors to the Hotel, providing a friendly, welcoming, and efficient service to all guests.

We are looking for a friendly, hard working and enthusiastic person to join our reception team. Full Training, uniform and supervision will be given.

Shift work including weekends and bank holidays and a mixture of shifts, as and when required. Shift times are 7.00am - 3.00pm and 3.00pm - 10.00pm, with a few varying shifts in between.

Key responsibilities and duties

To undertake reception duties, including meeting, greeting and attending to the needs of guests, to ensure a superb customer experience.

To build a good rapport with all guests and resolve any complaints/issues quickly to maintain high quality customer service.
To deal with incoming post and ensure it is distributed in a timely manner.
To assist with franking outgoing mail and ensuring that it is all ready to be collected by Royal Mail by 3pm each day.
To ensure the reception area is kept clean and tidy at all times.
To undertake general office duties, including correspondence, emails, filing and switchboard, to ensure the smooth running of the reception area.
To report any maintenance, breakage or cleanliness problems to the relevant manager.
To adhere to all fire safety test procedures and to assist in the evacuation process in the event of a fire.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Person Specification

Qualifications

NVQ Level 2 in Business Admin or equivalent. (desirable)

Experience

Previous experience in a customer facing role. (desirable)

Knowledge & Skills

Outstanding customer service skills.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Good IT Skills.
Confident telephone manner.
Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and juggle conflicting demands.

Personal Qualities

Self-motivated with the ability to work both alone and as a member of a team.
Have a positive attitude and be able to offer excellent customer service.
Ability to use own initiative and work proactively.
A Willingness to learn and continuously develop.
Assertive, calm with the ability to work well under pressure.
Flexible to meet the requirements of the needs of the business.
