Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to efficiently load, unload, and transport materials throughout the facility. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, safety protocols, and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.

Responsibilities

Operate forklifts and other equipment safely and efficiently to move materials within the warehouse.
Load and unload goods from lorries and containers, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
Conduct regular inspections of equipment and perform basic repairs as necessary to maintain operational efficiency.
Utilise a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track inventory levels and manage stock movements.
Assist in shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation and timely dispatch of goods.
Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all safety regulations and protocols.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and effective communication throughout the warehouse.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a warehouse environment.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs.
Proficient in basic maths for inventory management and stock control purposes.
Familiarity with materials handling techniques and safety practices in a warehouse setting.
Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 25 kg) consistently throughout the shift.
Experience with shipping and receiving processes is advantageous.
A valid forklift operator licence is required; additional certifications are a plus.
