Management Accountant / Accounts Coordinator

Guy-Raymond Engineering Company Limited – King's Lynn, Norfolk. PE30 4LX

Job Summary

Due to pending retirement, we are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Management Accountant/Accounts Coordinator to join our team at Guy-Raymond Engineering Company Limited in King’s Lynn, Norfolk in a fully office based position.

This is a vital role within our organisation in which you will work autonomously, reporting to the Company Directors, with sole responsibility for all of our accounts department functions.

The role is both busy and varied and would suit someone with proven experience in the preparation of accounts and a working knowledge of management accounts, including P&L accounts and balance spreadsheets.

You must have excellent organisational and record keeping skills, possesses an attention to detail and a problem solving aptitude.

Experience of Sage accounting software, ideally Sage X3, is essential, as is excellent MS office skills, especially in Excel. An excellent telephone manner and interpersonal skills are required for communicating with both external and internal personnel.

This role is full time, working 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a willingness from the successful applicant to stay on and complete the job when required.

We aim to provide an in depth handover/training programme and we are looking for someone that we hope will be a part of our team for many years to come.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Carry out all tasks related to ensuring Sales Ledger is accurate and up-to-date.
Maintain Credit control and ensure credit checks and limits are maintained with guidance of credit agency, liaise with sales managers and Directors.
Carry out all tasks related to ensuring Purchase Ledger is accurate up-to-date.
Prepare accurate records, bank reconciliation, reconcile Cash Book, in both sterling and foreign currency.
Prepare and return all monthly & quarterly records necessary for VAT returns (inc. Import PVA / VAT C79).
Maintain and update all records in accordance with preparation of Nominal Ledger.
Ensure all records & journals are prepared and uploaded for Wages and Pensions as required.
Maintain Fixed Asset register.
Prepare quarterly and annual Management Accounts including monthly sales statistics/trend book/profit & Loss.
Prepare and maintain Cash Flow forecast.
Produce accounts on completed Projects.
Document any requests for supplier bank detail changes and double check by phoning supplier and documenting the call details.

Other Finance Duties

Sage X3, keep abreast of updates, update process manuals and advise operators where necessary.
Support accountants with their audit information requests and queries and liaise with directors.
Ensure Finance reports required by Directors & Accountants are presented in a timely and accurate fashion.
Credit agency.
World Pay card machine contract.
Government survey statistics.
Supply statistics for external consultant.
