We built Power for the people the fitness industry forgot. This role tells their story.
£17,000–£21,000 for 3 days a week, the same rate of pay as a c. £26,500–£33,000 full-time job, plus a discretionary performance bonus of around £1,000–£3,000 a year.
This is a part-time role (24 hours) built to grow to full-time as we open our second site. You'll report directly to Callum, one of the founders.
ABOUT POWER
Power is a strength and coaching gym in Guiseley. We work mostly with adults in their 40s, 50s and 60s. They're people the fitness industry has often overlooked, many of whom had written gyms off years ago, or never found their place in one. Our job is to help them get strong and stay well for the long run, and we do it through proper coaching in small groups rather than rows of treadmills.
We've built a strong reputation locally and a genuine community around the gym, and we're preparing to open a second site. This is a new, permanent role created to take our brand and content forward as we grow.
We're a small team and we work like one: close, hands-on, and quick to back a good idea. We treat the people who work here the way we treat our members, which is to say we know your name and we're on your side.
THE ROLE
This is a content and brand role first. You'll own Power's organic presence end to end: creating, filming, editing and scheduling content for social, running our email and member communications, and capturing real member stories on the gym floor. The brief is to be proactive: build a content calendar, work ahead, and keep a steady, planned push behind the brand rather than reacting week to week.
The best part of the job is the material. Our members are real people doing things they didn't think they could, often later in life. Telling those stories well is the heart of the role, and it's why we want someone who genuinely cares about craft, not just output.
This is a standalone role. You'd run our content day to day on your own, working closely with the founders, who guide the brand and what it stands for, with no team to manage. When the gym's quiet you might lend the odd hand front-of-house, but that's the exception, not the job.
Your 3 days are flexible, we'll agree a pattern that works for you and for the gym. Now and then there'll be an event or a shoot where we need you on a set day, and we'll always give you notice when that's coming.
WHERE IT CAN GROW
This role is built to grow with the business. We're a growing company, not a static one, and we'd far rather grow the person in the seat than hire over them.
It starts at 3 days a week, and the first move is to full-time as we open our second site. For the right person, the next step is taking on our paid advertising, so the paid side is yours too, not just the organic. From there the role can widen to take in more of our marketing across both sites, from email to partnerships and events, with more say over strategy as you go. The honest direction of travel is a broader marketing or brand role as we expand.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Plan, film, edit and schedule content for Power's social channels (primarily Meta).
- Build and run a content calendar, working ahead rather than scrambling each week.
- Capture real member stories and moments on the gym floor and turn them into content.
- Mock up graphics for social when we need them, carousels, story tiles and simple designs and take a good photo, not just video.
- Write and send our member emails and wider communications.
- Keep everything consistent with Power's brand and tone of voice.
- Work with the founders on the wider marketing plan and what's coming next.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You don't need years behind you. A recent graduate or someone a year or two into their career would suit this well. What matters is the skill and the attitude:
- Genuinely good at shooting video and photo content for social, and confident editing it (Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve).
- Able to put together clean, simple graphics for social , carousels and the like, in Canva, Photoshop or similar.
- A real eye for brand, tone and storytelling. You notice when something feels right or off.
- Confident planning your own work and managing your own time, not waiting to be told.
- Comfortable being out on the gym floor with members rather than behind a desk all day.
- Clear, warm writer who can write copy and emails that sound human, not corporate.
- Familiar with the main social platforms and the tools to create for them.
- A full driving licence is useful given our location and the second site coming, but not essential.
You don't need your own kit. We'll provide what you need, though if you have gear you love working with, all the better.
Bonus, not essential: any experience with paid social advertising or email marketing tools.
WHAT WE OFFER
- £17,000–£21,000 for 3 days a week depending on experience, the same rate of pay as a c. £26,500–£33,000 full-time role, plus a discretionary performance bonus of around £1,000–£3,000 a year.
- Flexible working pattern, we'll agree your 3 days together, with set days only when an event or shoot needs you there.
- Free gym membership and a workplace pension.
- Paid holiday including bank holidays, the equivalent of 28 days full-time, which works out at around 17 days at 3 days a week, growing as the role does.
- All the kit you need to shoot and edit, provided by us.
- You own the content day to day and your work goes live fast, not stuck in approvals. We guide the brand and what it stands for, and you bring it to life, with plenty of room for your own ideas.
- Proper development. You'll learn the lot, from content and email to brand and, in time, paid advertising, working directly with the founders rather than buried under layers of management.
- A part-time role now that's built to grow into full-time as our second site opens. Real progression, not a dead-end first job.
- Work worth putting in your portfolio, seen by a real and growing audience.
HOW TO APPLY
Read this bit carefully. A CV on its own won't be enough for us to consider you. To apply, please send all three:
- Your CV.
- A showreel or examples of content you've filmed and edited.
- A short video of yourself introducing who you are, filmed and edited by you, where we can see your face and hear how you tell a story.
The video doesn't need to be polished or scripted. We just want to see you on camera and how you put a clip together, because it tells us more than a CV ever could.
Please don't apply unless you can provide all three. Without a video of yourself and examples of your work, we won't be able to consider the application.
No covering letter needed. Just show us what you can do.
Closing date: Friday 14 August 2026.
Pay: £17,000.00-£21,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Company pension
- Free fitness classes
- Gym membership
- On-site gym
