Mechanic/Plant Fitter

Job description

ADS drilling are one of the UK’s largest independent suppliers of subcontract drilling services within the ground investigation industry as part of continued growth we are looking for a highly-dedicated mechanic to join our growing family business. You will liaise with the directors and site crews to develop and execute both planned maintenance schedules and reactive maintenance on-site. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a proven track record in the field of vehicle plant and lorry maintenance, diesel mechanical engineering or agricultural maintenance, and will be instrumental in caring for the fleet of pick ups, vans, trailers compressors and specialist plant which operate from our bases near both Leicester and Newton Abbot, Devon.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

Ensure vehicle and trailer maintenance and repairs are completed in line with the daily check sheets received.
Develop and maintain planned service schedule.
Attend sites to rectify issues and perform reactive maintenance. Where applicabe.
Prepare and assist with the loading and unloading of plant, equipment and vehicle
Assist plant fitting team with cross over tasks between vehicles and plant.
Maintain supply of parts and consumables for both van and yard.
Take pride in your work and ensure that plant and machinery is in the best possible condition.

Desired Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

Full UK Driving License, Category B (Car)
CSCS Card
NVQ in related discipline

Salary of between £40,000 and £48,000 based upon experience

Flexible working based around core hours/availability - Saturday working required

Location

At ADS, we pride ourselves on the flexibility and diverse nature of our business; our site crews are based throughout the UK, but operate from our yard in south Leicestershire (LE17 6AX)

Working Hours

Due to the nature of the role, a degree of flexibility is encouraged, with Saturday working and/or time off in the week to compensate. Core hours are dependent upon workload, location of work and activity levels.

Pay: £40,000.00-£48,000.00 per year
